Full-Time or Part-Time Dog Care & Customer Service Role – Hastings
Dog Central is expanding into our new Hastings CBD location, and we’re looking for a friendly, reliable and confident person to join our growing team.
This is a varied role combining dog daycare, customer service and retail, so we’re looking for someone who is equally comfortable caring for dogs, talking with customers and helping create a welcoming experience within our store.
The role would suit someone who is mature and responsible - loves dogs, enjoys working with people and is looking for a position where no two days are quite the same.
What the role will involve:
* Supervising and caring for dogs within our daycare environment
* Managing groups of dogs and ensuring their safety and wellbeing
* Welcoming customers and handling drop-offs and pick-ups
* Building relationships with our daycare clients and their dogs
* Answering customer enquiries in person, over the phone and online
* Processing bookings and payments
* Working within our retail area and assisting customers with product selection
* Stocking shelves, receiving deliveries and maintaining an organised, presentable store
* General cleaning and maintaining a high standard throughout the facility
* Assisting with basic dog care, feeding and enrichment
* Helping with the general day-to-day running of Dog Central
* Supporting our grooming operation where required
We’re looking for someone who is:
* Confident and friendly when dealing with customers
* Comfortable handling dogs of different sizes, breeds and personalities
* Reliable, organised and able to work independently
* Energetic and happy working in a hands-on environment
* Passionate about dogs and their wellbeing
* Comfortable using computers, booking systems and EFTPOS
* A good communicator with excellent customer service skills
* Able to work as part of a small, growing team
Previous experience in dog daycare, animal care, retail, hospitality, veterinary work or customer service would be an advantage. Most importantly, we’re looking for the right person with a great attitude and genuine love for dogs.
If you have dog grooming experience or qualifications, there may also be an opportunity to incorporate grooming into the role, depending on your experience and what you’re looking for. We’re open to discussing a combination of daycare, customer service, retail and grooming for the right person.
This position can be full-time or part-time, depending on the candidate. As Dog Central continues to grow, there is potential for the role and hours to develop over time.
Hours would be between 7am-6pm, with full-time and part-time options available.
