The perfect temperature for walking dogs is 18-20 degrees, anything above that can cause them to have heat stress or burnt paws, the days are still warm so 7-8am in the morning would be the best time for your furry friend to have their walk without them overheating 🐶🐾
Please take care when exercising your dog on hot or humid days, especially if they're older, overweight, have an underlying disease, or are a flat-faced breed.
Dogs can only sweat small amounts through their paws, which means they can struggle to regulate their temperature 🐶🌡 They rely on panting to cool down and can quickly overheat in hot weather. Dogs with flat faces (such as bulldogs and pugs) have a particularly hard time because they can't always breathe or pant as effectively as other dogs.
Heat stress can occur on days that don’t seem particularly hot to us humans, especially if the humidity is high.
