Tiny leaves, harvested young, packed with colour, flavour, and freshness!!!

Microgreens and macrogreens have become a staple in kitchens because they offer an easy way to add diversity and freshness to everyday meals. Research has shown these young greens can contain concentrated levels of certain nutrients compared to mature vegetables, which is part of why they’ve gained so much attention in recent years.

Winter maintenance in action at the greenhouse.

Friday afternoon we were putting innovative cleaning methods to work which will improve light pe*******on, maintaining healthy growing conditions, and caring for the infrastructure that supports year-round food production.

Moments like these are a reminder that growing healthy food is about far more than harvests alone. It’s the ongoing care, experimentation, and behind-the-scenes work that keeps everything thriving through every season.

Exciting results coming through from our biodynamic trials at and

Over the past year, we’ve been applying biodynamic silica (501) preparations within one of our tunnel houses while comparing it alongside another growing space that 501 wasn’t used. Recent soil biology testing has shown a significant increase in activity within the biodynamic trial tunnel, with results far exceeding expectations.

It’s encouraging to see measurable changes in soil health as we continue learning more about biodynamic growing practices here at Earth Stewards.

This morning we had the privilege of welcoming the team from to for a meaningful conversation around community, connection, and the future of shared learning.

It was inspiring to spend time with an organisation so deeply grounded in care, inclusion, and creating opportunities for people to thrive. Together, we explored ways we can continue strengthening community involvement through food, education, and hands-on experiences that bring people closer to the land and to one another.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect and look forward to what may grow from this shared vision.

These days most of us shop for our fruit and vegetables from our local supermarket, or veggie shop. We are no longer connected with the growing of our kai or the whenua where it is produced.

Earth Stewards Urban Farm offers you the opportunity to reconnect with the kai on your table, the farmer who grows it and the soil which provides nutrients and nourishment. Either by joining our CSA programme (My Earth Box), or visiting our Farm Shop, you can share the produce from your local farm and enjoy delicious, seasonal veggies bursting with flavour!

Earth Stewards Urban Farm vegetables are certified organic. We use biology first regenerative organic horticulture practices to care for and enrich our soil and the environment.
