🌿 Farm Shop Days

Fresh organic kai, seasonal goodness, and a chance to connect with our community.

We love welcoming our whānau into the farm shop to pick up fresh produce and take a little bit of Earth Stewards home with them.

Last week we planted more than 1,500 seedlings 🌱

We use a forestry planter for our planting, especially when we’re putting this many seedlings into the ground. It helps reduce the amount of time we spend bent over planting, which makes a big difference when you’re doing this work for hours at a time.

Looking after ourselves is an important part of looking after the farm. We’re always thinking about how we can work in ways that are kinder on our bodies, so we can keep growing good food for many years to come. 🌿

It’s been a beautiful and busy couple of weeks at Earth Stewards 🌱

From harvesting flowers and planting over 1,500 new seedlings, to welcoming two groups for garden tours, business strategy meetings, biodynamic catch-ups and even our Equinox Gathering, there’s been a lot happening around the farm.

A heartfelt thank you to our community for all the love and support that we are shown. We truly appreciate every visit to the farm shop, every offer to volunteer, and everyone who continues to invest their time, energy and interest in what we’re growing here at Earth Stewards.

We’re so grateful to have such a wonderful community around us. 🤎

Our Produce Bubbler got a upgrade 🌱💦

We use our bubbler mostly for our microgreens, megagreens and leafy greens. It helps wash off the seed casings that stay on the sprouts as they grow, along with any soil or dirt.

Another little improvement to how we prepare our produce for you. 🌱

🐝🌿 Learning with the bees

We loved welcoming the tamariki from Waikato Waldorf School School Hamilton to Earth Stewards for a lesson in the garden with Carl and his bees. 🐝

The kids got to see what goes on inside a hive and learn about caring for bees using organic beekeeping practices.

It is always so special having the kids on the farm to learn and ask such great questions. We loved learning alongside them.

There’s something magical about slowing down and watching the tiny workers that help our gardens grow. 🌱

A big thank you to Waikato Waldorf School for spending the morning with us. We always look forward to more learning, growing and sharing together.

Just Tayla and Cay filming flowers in the rain again… 🌸🌧️ because we’re already so excited for summer and all the gorgeous flowers coming soon!

On Monday, we’re meeting with Tayla, Elle and Silvia to start planning our PYO (pick-your-own) flower events, kicking off in December.
