A little something different from StableCo! 🐎

We recently revisited a stable complex concept we’d originally explored for a customer, and thought it was worth sharing.

The idea was to create a practical, affordable setup using our existing modular stable system, bringing everything together under one roof.

The design includes:
- 3 × 3.6 m horse stables
- A 3.6 m covered breezeway
- A enclosed tack room
- Continuous mono-pitch roofing with generous 400 mm eaves

The interesting part? We can put this entire setup together for around $26,000 incl. GST (supply only).

It’s a great example of how versatile our modular system can be. By combining standard components in different configurations, we can create something quite different without the cost of a fully custom-built stable complex.

This one’s just a concept for now, but we’d love to see something like it come to life!

Would a setup like this work on your property? Flick us a message, we’re always keen to explore new ideas.

Concept render only. Indicative pricing includes GST, excludes freight and installation, and is subject to final specifications.

What a spot for a new horse yard! 🐴

A couple of photos sent through by a customer in Hawke’s Bay, showing off their new StableCo round yard.

As someone who lives about five metres from their neighbours, I have to admit I’m slightly envious of this setup! 😂

Heavy-duty galvanised steel panels, a modular setup and a pretty hard-to-beat backdrop.

Always awesome seeing where our products end up. Thanks for sharing!

Love getting photos like this back from customers. We sent a pack of yards to Invercargill !

This setup is going to be used for serving mares and handling foals, with a crush going onto the concrete pad in the middle.

They’ll likely extend the yards further from here too, which is exactly the beauty of the modular system.

Pretty cool seeing what people actually build with them.

Misty and Honey approved 🐴

Got this from a customer this morning and it made my day.

Triple bay up in Dargaville. Two very content little horses. Misty’s having a full lounge in the sawdust, Honey’s doing a quality control inspection up close. Both looking pretty settled in their StableCo setup.

This is exactly why I do this. When a customer sends you photos like these unprompted.

If your horses deserve a decent setup, get in touch.

BACK IN STOCK 🙌

Glorious day in Dairy Flat, made even better by having fresh stock back on the ground!

🐴 Horse stables are back after being sold out for the last month or so.

🐄 Horse & cattle yard panels and gates are back too, these only lasted around three weeks last time, and some of this shipment is already heading out this week.

And there’s another container not far behind this one.

If you’ve been waiting, or you’re planning a stable or yard setup, flick me a message and we can work out what you need.

This one made my month.

Had a customer pick up a double bay from the yard a while ago, heading to Hawke’s Bay to install it themselves. I’ll be honest, I’m deeply invested in how these go up when I’m not there. It’s early days and it has to be easy, logical, robust.

Got the call today. Photos came through. And yeah, absolutely nailed it.

Prep work done right, one person on the tools with a hiab, and the panels were up in 20 minutes !! 🤯 Roof kit went on just as easy, pre-drilled (few adjustments here and there) simple design, made total sense. Square and true, roof thrown up without a drama. Clean result, start to finish.

His words, not mine: “It’s just silly. Bang, bang, bang. Not hard. Real gravy.”

That’s exactly what this system is designed to be. Modular, practical, and straightforward enough that a capable person can put it up themselves and be proud of what they’ve built.

Paul’s even offered to let anyone local come out and have a look at the finished install in person. If you’re in Hawke’s Bay and want to see one up close before you commit, reach out and I’ll connect you.

Stoked for you Paul. Appreciate you making the call, mate.

Two-bay mono-pitch.

This one was a great example of a customer doing their prep work properly before we arrived.

The site had a natural gradient to it, so they’d brought in a contractor to build cinder block retaining walls in an L-shape, backfilled and compacted metal, then laid the bed over the top. By the time we got there the ground was level, solid, and ready to go. That’s exactly how it should be done, when the groundwork is right, the install is easy. Super important those cinder blocks are set to level because that’s what everything else sits on.

This customer also wanted a mono-pitched roof rather than a direct-mounted flat roof. The result is around 2.5m head height at the back and close to 3m at the front. Plenty of space, plenty of airflow, and a lot more comfortable for the bigger horses. If you’re running 17 or 18 hand horses, that kind of headroom makes a real difference.

Really happy with how this one came together. Right next to the existing shed, good use of space, and a clean result.

Now, this was the last of my current stock. Next container arrives 6th of August. Already taking enquiries for it, so if you’ve been thinking about a modular stable setup, now’s the time to get in touch.

Site prep starts before the stable arrives.

Yesterday’s site visit was for an upcoming 3-bay install onto an existing concrete pad.

One thing that’s important with modular stables is understanding that the goal isn’t always to make everything perfectly level to the horizon.

The real goal is making sure every stable panel sits on the same consistent plane.

Because these panels connect top and bottom like Lego, if one is too high or too low compared to the next, the whole system starts fighting itself — which can affect panel fitment, gates, and roof alignment.

To get this right, we:
- Set a string line as the reference
- Measure each panel connection point back to that line
- Check the fall across the slab
- Work out where packers are needed
- Build the longest straight run first to establish the plane

From there, the rest of the stable ties into that system.

It’s less about chasing “perfect level” and more about making sure the whole structure works together as one.

A good install starts long before the first panel goes up.

Got a site in mind? Send me a message and we can talk through it.

As my first container is about to sell out, here’s 3 of the biggest things I’ve learned.

When we brought our first shipment of stables into New Zealand, we thought we had most things figured out. In reality, there were plenty of lessons waiting for us.

Some things worked exactly as planned. Others needed refining. From freight and logistics, to stock levels, packaging, and understanding what horse owners actually wanted, there was a lot we could only learn by doing.

One thing it did confirm is that there is strong demand for quality, affordable stables that don’t require a permanent build.

The other lesson? Customers are incredibly good at telling you where you can improve. We’ve listened closely and have already made changes that will influence future shipments.

Starting a business is a bit like building a stable. You can plan all you like, but eventually you’ve got to get stuck in and learn as you go.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come from that first container, and excited about what’s next.
