One week ago today, our beautiful Echo gained her wings. One of the most painful moments of my life. When she took her last breath, it felt like I couldn’t breathe either. Like a piece of me had been ripped away, and I still don’t know how to make sense of a world without her in it.
Our sweet girl. Our angel. Our first baby. ❤️
You were there for our entire adult lives. From two teenagers in love getting our very first dog, to our first crappy rental house, finding our way in the world, getting married, starting new careers, having our babies and eventually moving to the countryside where you spent your final years.
You were there for every sleepless night, lying beside me while I fed our babies. You watched over them and were the best guardian they could have ever had. They won’t remember a life without you, and that breaks my heart.
You were there through every high and every low. Through the happiest moments of our lives and some of the hardest.
For 11 years, you were part of us. Not just our dog. You were our family. Our constant. A piece of our home and our hearts.
And now there’s an emptiness where you should be.I would give anything for one more cuddle, one more walk, one more look at those beautiful eyes.
I don’t know how we’re supposed to do this without you, Echo. But I hope you knew just how deeply you were loved.
Thank you for 11 incredible years. Thank you for growing up with us, loving us through every version of ourselves, and being part of so many of our most precious memories.
Until we meet again, our sweet girl. ❤️🐾
An enormous thank you to Echo’s incredible vets and the team at Passing Paws for the love, compassion and care you gave her, right through to the very end. We could never thank you enough for everything you did for our girl and for our family during one of the hardest moments of our lives. ❤️
And thank you to everyone who has sent messages, checked in, shared their love and been so patient with me this past week. I’m so grateful for every single one of you. ❤️
I’ve put some of my favourite photos of our beautiful Echo below. 💜
