Easy had a big day!
I've been working with Easy since June 2024 and today the hard work payed off!
I decided that we've achieved enough on the ground to have his first ride and it couldn't have gone any better! He was very confused at first, not wanting to walk off as he didnt understand how to shift the new weight but he eventually just plodded around like it was nothing. Probably showing off infront of Socks.
I then decided after a few circles to take the gear off and jump on ba****ck to see if he would have any change in reaction and again, nothing. He has such an awesome nature its hard to believe he is a stallion.
We will see if he has more of a reaction during his next ride.

We're getting back into it!
Now that my dairy job has slowed down with the cows being dried off I have a few weeks to spend more time working on the horses.

Socks, Easy, and Ghost all got their own salt blocks today and will be drenched again soon to help them before winter fully sets in

New year, new clients!
I've finished a few trim cycles for three new horses, two of which will be heading to their new homes so I'll be down to one for this group.

Leaving me with one donkey, one mini, and one horse in my client list. I have the three original horses still working on training and handling with them aswell as their hooves

Finally getting into the Fleece side of F&F!
The pet lambs were due for their first clip and Finnegan has gotten a little too plump for me to start on so I had a go at sheering the little girl, Sparkle.

Sparkle was amazing to sheer and even carol was quite surprised with how relaxed Sparkle was for her first time being shorn. I am still learning to hold with my knees but I'll keep practicing my holding skills at home with the pets and can update next time they are due for a clip!

Another beautiful mare to add to the group, Ghost.
She is a very pretty Grey mare with a lot of personality.
Some backstory and the plan for Ghost, she was trial raced twice but had an injury to her hind muscles in training for a third trial so was bred and sold as a maiden broodmare which is how we now have Cheese. Her future plan in to get her retrained and broke as a riding horse to take out for hunting and jumping.
