Sometimes, one interaction can set a dog back in ways that are incredibly hard for both the dog and their owner. 💔

This popped up on my feed today and it was one of our wonderful clients who has been using their vest for a very long time.

On one particular occasion, someone chose not to respect the clearly stated boundaries on their dog’s vest. Despite the message being boldly displayed, their boundaries were ignored — and unfortunately, it had a real impact on their progress.

For dogs who are working through reactivity, fear or anxiety, these setbacks can feel so discouraging. You can put so much time, patience and training into helping your dog feel safe, only for one interaction to knock them back.

But their owner never gave up. ❤️

They kept working with their boy, kept supporting him and kept giving him opportunities to succeed.

And this video is such a beautiful example of why to keep going.

Here he is around other dogs, but instead of becoming overwhelmed or stressed, he is able to channel that happy, positive energy into playing with his toys. 🥹🐾

That is progress.

It might not always be a straight line, and there may be setbacks along the way — but they don't erase all the hard work that came before them.

And sometimes, the biggest win is simply seeing your dog feel safe enough to enjoy being a dog. ❤️

Woah! What a day we had... we love a good saturday. It's either packed full of jobs to catch up on around the house or to slouch on the couch and binge watch TV shows...today was the day to be proactive 😅

1. We finished 2 orders ready to go out monday.. woop!📮

2. We found a baby bird up in our outside gazebp roof - so cute and the parents have been hanging around. You can see the little feathers 🐦

3. Cut up the HUGE onion we grew in the garden last year for cooking.. been waiting ages to use this! 🧅

4. Made chinese beef and onion baozi - yes by hand, folded and all 🥟 then to top it off a nasi goreng - it is pretty spicy 🌶

5. Lastly, our girl enjoyed the last bit of arvo sun ☀️

Well, here they are being modelled by the gorgeous Avoxx and Maisie! 😍🐶

We had so much fun creating these custom bandanas for Veterinary Specialists Aotearoa (VSA) for an upcoming event. These were made with a super small turnaround time, but we pulled it off and got them delivered in time! 🙌✨

We absolutely love seeing our creations out in the real world, especially when they’re helping businesses and organisations showcase their brand. 💜

🌿 Packaging with a purpose 🌿

When it comes to packaging your Rocco & Co. orders, we choose repurposing and sustainability over fancy packaging wherever we can. 💚

This order is all wrapped and ready to go — but the bubble wrap you see here isn’t brand new. It was saved from a new couch we recently purchased! 🛋️

The packaging from the couch was in a HUGE pile, so we took the time to sort through it and salvage anything we could reuse rather than letting it head straight to the rubbish.

Is it the prettiest packaging? Maybe not. 😂
Is it perfect? Definitely not.

But we believe every little bit counts. 🌎♻️

We'd much rather give packaging a second (or even third!) life than use brand-new materials just for the sake of making an order look fancy.

We’re not perfect, but we’re always trying to make better choices — and trying is what matters. 💚
