A few weeks ago, we shared a post about our newsletter, and one of our wonderful clients commented about a lead cover they purchased from us several years ago.

It was so lovely to hear that it's still being used today and continues to help not just one dog, but multiple dogs within their family. Hearing stories like this means the world to us and reminds us why we do what we do. Knowing that our products are making a lasting difference years later is incredibly rewarding. ❤️

Starting with bandanas (with other items available on request), we are introducing quirky and sassy visual aid advocate gear designed to keep people on their toes 👀

Honestly, this is the true definition of a well-used bandana… muddy, soaking wet, covered in adventure and one VERY happy pup.

Safe to say Max definitely had the best day ever 🌧️🐕💨

As a small handmade business, this is something we have gone back and forward on for quite a while. Unfortunately with the current economic climate, the cost of materials, supplies, website fees, fuel and day to day living has continued to rise around us.

We have always tried our hardest to keep our advocacy gear as affordable as possible while still maintaining the quality and care that goes into every single item we make. At the end of the day, we are just a small business trying to get by too — buying the weekly food shop, putting fuel in the car, and keeping things sustainable enough to continue creating the gear our community relies on.

Because of this, there will be a $15 increase across our vest sizing range moving forward.

Every vest is carefully handmade with attention to detail, quality materials, durability and functionality in mind. We do not rush our work, and we take pride in making sure each item is something we are proud to send out.

We will be updating our pricing tomorrow, so if you have been thinking about ordering a vest, today is the perfect time 🤍 Even if you simply start the process by sending us a message today, you will still receive our current pricing before the increase takes effect tomorrow.

Our gear is designed to be used time and time again, and even passed on to help other dogs and owners when it’s no longer needed.

We absolutely love seeing Sarah from Training consistently using her gear out and about. It means so much to see dog trainers and dog owners advocating for better understanding of dog behaviour through visual aid gear, helping create safer and more respectful interactions for dogs everywhere.

New fabric delivery = wash day ☀️🧺

Before we sew anything, all of our cotton fabrics are pre-washed and prepared first. It takes extra time, but it means your finished gear is better quality, longer lasting, and ready to use from day one.

Why we pre-wash our fabrics before sewing:
• Helps prevent shrinking after purchase
• Removes manufacturing chemicals, dust, and excess dyes
• Softens the fabric for comfort and wearability
• Helps test colourfastness before creating your order
• Reduces the chance of seams warping or puckering later
• Gives a more accurate final fit and finish
• Ensures every handmade piece is properly prepared for everyday adventures

We recently created a newsletter that we were excited to send out to everyone subscribed to our email list. Unfortunately, we discovered that our website’s email marketing system has recently changed and now only allows us to send emails to 200 contacts — which isn’t very helpful when we currently have around 1,900 amazing people subscribed 😅

At some stage, when funds allow, we’ll upgrade things so we can send newsletters out properly to everyone again. But for now, if we create any newsletters, updates, or important info, we’ll also pop them up here so nobody misses out.

Bit of a long one, but hear us out!

We were sitting in the office sewing away the other day when a random thought hit us… 💭

We recently started watching Plastic Detox on Netflix — and honestly, we almost didn’t finish it 😅 It’s definitely a bit of a controversial topic, but it really got us thinking about the things we produce and consume every day.

One thing that stuck with us? Fabrics.

Polyester (which is used A LOT in pet products) is petroleum-based, sheds microplastics into waterways when washed, doesn’t break down naturally, and can trap heat and moisture against the skin. That got our brains ticking… 🤯

So we looked at our own products.

Now, we’ll be real — there are some components we can’t change (clips, webbing, vinyl… all essential for durability and safety). BUT one thing we can control is the fabric that sits directly against your dog’s body.

Cue a deep Google dive… and it only confirmed what we already believed 👇

🐾 Why we choose 100% cotton (and always will):
• Breathable – helps keep your dog cool and reduces moisture build-up
• Gentle on skin – cotton fibres are smooth and non-irritating, helping reduce rubbing and friction. It’s especially beneficial for dogs prone to allergies, hotspots, or skin sensitivities, as it allows the skin to breathe rather than trapping sweat and bacteria
• No static – no weird shocks or discomfort
• Soft + flexible – moves with your dog, not against them
• Natural + biodegradable – kinder to the planet 🌏

For us, it’s about making small, thoughtful choices where we can — for your dogs and the environment.
