🐾Meet the Sire of Our Puppies 🐾
Some dogs arrive in your life quietly.
Others arrive carrying history, dreams, and generations of dedication behind them.
Our puppies’ father came to us from Australia, from top kerry blue breeder and very good friend Pauline Oliphant and from the very beginning, he represented everything we love about the Kerry Blue Terrier — strength wrapped in elegance, kindness and intelligence paired with loyalty, and a spirit that is both confident and deeply connected to his people., not to forget his stunning sky blue colour!
His pedigree reads like a list of all my favourite dogs from OLIZURE; generations of careful, thoughtful breeding coming together in one remarkable boy. He truly is the best of the best from his breeder’s line.
🍀The Kerry Blue Terrier is a breed with a rich Irish heritage🍀developed in County Kerry as a versatile working terrier — capable, courageous, and clever — yet gentle and devoted within the family. Over time, the breed became known not only for its unique, soft, wavy, and never-shedding blue coat, but also for its unmistakable character: bold yet affectionate, proud yet deeply loving. What makes our boy’s story even more extraordinary is his sire:
AM CH. KERRAGEEN’S HOTSPUR (USA) was the top dog of the USA in the 90s, the breathtaking, legendary HOTSPUR!!
Hotspur was a dog who still remembered, and many "old" Kerry blue breeders remember him, taking pride in having his great-grandchildren; some judges still proudly claim to have seen him in person.
The dog whose influence was so highly valued that his semen was carefully preserved for more than 30 years — something reserved only for dogs of exceptional quality, correct type, and lasting importance to the breed. Long after his own lifetime, his legacy was still considered worthy of protection for future generations🍀
When the first puppies from this preserved semen were finally born, it felt almost unreal — and when we learned that one of them would be coming to live with us, we could hardly believe it. To hold such a direct connection to a dog of this calibre, a piece of Kerry Blue history, is something we never take for granted.
Our boy carries this legacy not just on paper, but in himself!
He has the structure, presence, and breed type we admire — but just as importantly, he has the temperament that defines a true Kerry Blue: steady, affectionate, super friendly, intuitive, and full of quiet confidence.
He lives as part of our family, not just as a show dog, and watching him grow into his role as a Dad has been deeply rewarding!
Seeing his puppies now —beautiful, all the same type, full of promise — feels like watching the past, present, and future of the Kerry Blue Terrier come together in the most meaningful way. We are incredibly proud to carry this legacy forward and to honour the breeders and dogs who made it possible!
