A little spotlight on one of the smaller (but mighty) items in The Grand Wagg box: Nativeneem organic paw balm 🐾

As spring walks pick back up, paw pads take a beating from wet grass, gravel and warmer pavement. This little balm helps soothe and protect, one of those small details that makes a real difference to your dog's day.

It's these kinds of thoughtful extras that we love including in our boxes, because it's not just about treats, it's about looking after the whole dog.

Have you noticed a difference since using it?

Ollie the terrier from Stoke, Nelson is one very happy pup! 🐾

Five-year-old Ollie lives with his owner Helen Thawley and loves absolutely nothing more than his treats, so when he was drawn as one of ten lucky winners in our Neighbourly News x Wagg & Purr competition, it's safe to say he hit the jackpot.

His Grand Wagg gift box is packed with New Zealand-made treats including cherry dog nuggets from Oamaru, freeze-dried king salmon bites, bone broth and a Christchurch-brewed bone dog b**r, and Ollie (with a little help from his best friend Blake) wasted no time getting stuck in.

The competition celebrated the launch of our online store, bringing thoughtful, high-quality pet presents from small boutique NZ suppliers straight to your door.

Meet the human behind Wagg & Purr 🐾

I'm Tracey, and I've been a cat person since literally the day dot, a feline companion has been by my side (or under my arm, or tucked into a doll's bed) for as long as I can remember.

That lifelong love of pets is exactly why Wagg & Purr exists: I wanted to create a way for pet parents to spoil their cats and dogs with genuinely special, thoughtfully sourced treats and gifts. I've spent a lot of time tipping the country upside down to find boutique NZ suppliers worth featuring in every box.

And I can't introduce myself without introducing Billie, my Birman kitten and the newest addition to the Wagg & Purr team. Her official title is Chief Quality Control Officer. Unofficially, she just likes sitting in the boxes before they're packed.

Thanks for being part of this journey with us 🐾

A little spring pet care tip from us to you 🐾

With new treats, toys and boxes landing this season, it's the perfect time for a gentle reminder: new foods and treats are best introduced gradually.

Start with a small amount alongside your pet's usual food, and give their tummy a chance to adjust before going all in. If you've got a fussier eater at home, a meal topper (we love bone broth or a health topper) is a brilliant way to make an ordinary bowl of food feel a bit more special, without overhauling the whole diet.

Small changes, happy pets.

What's your pet's favourite way to try something new?

From foster kitten to pampered prince, meet Clarence 🐾 Seven years ago, Clarence came into Tracey's Castor Bay home as a 4 month old SPCA foster kitten. He never left. These days this gentle, slightly cross eyed, part Maine C**n gentleman has the run of the house and a very sunny favourite spot on the deck. Last month Clarence and Tracey were named one of 10 winners in our Neighbourly News x Wagg & Purr competition, taking home a Grand Purr gift hamper, and Clarence dived straight in, claiming the possum tail toy as his new best friend. Massive congratulations to him and Tracey, and to all our other winners! 🐾

This is not a marketing line. It's a promise 🐾🇳🇿

Every food treat in a Wagg & Purr box is New Zealand made. No exceptions.

Why? Because we can look our suppliers in the eye, ask exactly what goes in, and feel genuinely proud handing it to your pet.

🍒 Cherries from Oamaru
🦘 Possum protein from the North Island
🍲 Bone broth brewed in Christchurch
🍿 Popcorn from Wellington

You won't find any of that on a supermarket shelf.

Just to be upfront, some of the toys and accessories in our boxes are sourced from overseas. But every item, wherever it's from, is held to the same high standard.

Behind every treat is a real Kiwi maker who's poured their heart into it. Shop with us and you're backing them too.

The reviews are in, and Susan does not hold back.

If you caught last night's reel of Walter and Susan trying Naked Possum treats from the Signature Box , you'll know exactly why we had to turn this one into a quote card. "Paw-licking good" is about as strong an endorsement as we're going to get from a cat this particular.

Thank you to everyone who watched and liked, these two are notoriously hard to impress. If you missed the reel, it's still up on our page, well worth a watch.
