Big Welcomes To A.W.M Equine!
A.W.M Equine is run by myself, Ann Moriarty, alongside an amazing support crew (you know who you are) just out of Ashburton. Our goal is to share our love for horses while helping riders develop to their full potential. I am 24 years old and have ridden horses my entire life, mainly competing in the showjumping ring, while also dabbling in show hunter and showing. In addition, I work in a harness racing stable and am currently working towards obtaining my junior driver’s licence. To say I’m horse-obsessed would probably be an understatement. The services offered by A.W.M Equine focus on increasing accessibility for those wanting to learn about horses, while also supporting riders in overcoming challenges they may be facing within the sport.
A.W.M Equine is now offering a range of equine services tailored to riders of all ages and stages.
Key Services
- Riding Lessons - A.W.M Equine offers riding lessons for riders from complete beginners through to experienced riders. With a well-rounded team of lesson ponies and horses, we are able to match the right horse to each rider. Ann focuses on building correct, solid foundations in riding to support riders in whichever direction they choose, while developing confidence in their own ability. Lessons are also available on your own horse, with an emphasis on strengthening the partnership between horse and rider and working together in a calm, harmonious way.
- Rider Rehabilitation - Ann is a Level 4 qualified personal trainer who focused her studies on injury rehabilitation. After experiencing multiple injuries herself, she recognised the importance of maintaining strength, fitness, and correct movement to stay injury-free and continue riding safely.
Ann now works with riders to help them overcome injuries, rebuild confidence, and return to the saddle. She offers tailored exercise programmes as well as one-on-one rehabilitation sessions.
- Thoroughbred Retraining - Ann has been riding and working with Thoroughbreds since a very young age and has extensive experience with the breed. She specialises in retraining Thoroughbreds off the track, focusing on correct foundations, patience, and producing relaxed, willing horses ready for their next career.
