🐾 Why Is the Rabies Vaccine Important for Pet Boarding?

Some pet owners may wonder:

“My pet is an indoor pet. Do they really need a rabies vaccination?”

Or:

“They’re only staying for a few days. Is it really necessary?”

The answer is — rabies vaccination is not only about protecting your own pet. It also helps protect other pets, our staff, and the community around us. ❤️

📍 Especially in Kuching and Sarawak, rabies is something we should not take lightly.

Rabies is a viral disease that can affect mammals, including dogs and cats. It is usually transmitted through the saliva of an infected animal, most commonly through bites, scratches contaminated with saliva, or contact with broken skin or mucous membranes.

⚠️ Once clinical signs appear, rabies is fatal.

The good news is that rabies is preventable through vaccination. 💉

To help maintain a safe and healthy boarding environment, we strongly recommend that all pets receive appropriate external parasite prevention before boarding.
Even with regular cleaning and disinfection, fleas and ticks can still be introduced into the boarding area by an infested pet and spread to others.
External parasites may: • Cause itching, skin irritation, and allergic reactions • Transmit diseases • Affect the health of other boarding pets • Increase the difficulty of environmental control
💡 Friendly Reminder: Most external parasite preventives provide protection for approximately one month. If your pet has already received an external parasite treatment within the past month, simply let our team know. There is usually no need to apply another dose while the previous treatment is still effective, helping to avoid unnecessary repeat dosing.

Cats are generally more sensitive to environmental changes compared to dogs. During the first 2–3 days of boarding, it is completely normal for some cats to take a little time to adjust to their new surroundings.

During this adjustment period, some cats may:
