🐾☀️Yesterday marked another milestone for Gabby, the crusty, mange-ravaged rescue pulled from a dumpster and Snowy, the abandoned dog from the Hui Sing roundabout. If you follow us, you know who they are 💗
As part of HASS’s TNVR programme — which for us stands for Trap•Neuter• Vaccinate•Rehome — both were admitted to Dr Ovi at ACV for their neutering procedures. We are pleased to report that both came home well and eating voraciously.
And so the work continues.
Another batch is scheduled this week.
As an animal welfare NGO, we simply keep moving forward with our programme at our own costs with some sporadic support of donations.
There are no shortcuts to sustainable stray population management. While rescue addresses the symptoms, neutering addresses the source of the problem.
Every unneutered dog today can become dozens more tomorrow. Every neutering procedure prevents future suffering, abandonment, disease, road accidents, and the endless cycle of unwanted litters.
The question is not whether neutering works. Decades of global evidence have already answered that.
The real question is: who else is running a structured, ongoing neutering programme at scale?
Because when it comes to stray population management, the conversation should never be about who shouts the loudest. It should be about who is quietly putting dogs on the operating table, paying the bills and doing the work.
One surgery means one less litter at a time. 🐾❤️
