Equine colic can be prevented and for that a comprehensive management of the stable and a work in preventive medicine is essential.

At CELTIC EQUINE SERVICES we elaborate a suitable diet for each horse based on their
weight, character, sporting purpose, requirements of the rider, medical history, goals and performance expectations.

We train the caregiver to ration the diet appropriately for an easy and effective administration.

We recognize the importance of monitoring the evolution and control every 15 days or weekly, depending on each client.

Each horse is unique, and that is why it needs a specific diet to enhance their performance.

Los cólicos equinos se pueden prevenir y para eso es fundamental un gestión integral de la cuadra y un trabajo en medicina preventiva.

EN CELTIC EQUINE SERVICES elaboramos una dieta adecuada para cada caballo basada en
el pesaje, su carácter, finalidad deportiva, requerimientos del jinete, historial médico, objetivos y expectativas de performance, además de la disponibilidad económica del propietario para invertir en este aspecto.

Capacitamos al cuidador para racionar la dieta de forma adecuada para su fácil y eficaz administración.

Y finalmente, reconocemos la importancia de realizar un seguimiento de la evolución y control cada 15 días o semanalmente, dependiendo de cada cliente.

Horses have special tactile hairs called vibrissae – these are their whiskers.

The whiskers on a horse play an important role in their sensory awareness system. These whiskers allow them to gather information about the surroundings and aid in general depth perception, especially those surrounding his lips and chin.

The FEI has outlawed trimming the whiskers of competition horses from 2021. The reasoning from the FEI veterinary committee for the change is that they believe a horse's sensory hairs must not be trimmed or removed as it “reduces the horse's sensory ability”.

DO NOT trim your horse's whiskers! They need them to drink water, touch your hands, play with other horses and for eating!

Los caballos tienen pelos táctiles especiales llamados vibrissae: estos son sus bigotes. Los bigotes de un caballo juegan un papel importante en su sistema de conciencia sensorial.

Estos bigotes le permiten recopilar información sobre su entorno y ayudar en la percepción general de la profundidad, especialmente los que rodean sus labios y barbilla.

La FEI ha prohibido recortar los bigotes de los caballos de competición a partir de 2021. El razonamiento del comité veterinario de la FEI para el cambio es que creen que los pelos sensoriales de un caballo no deben cortarse o eliminarse ya que "reduce la capacidad sensorial del caballo".

¡NO recortes los bigotes de tus caballos! ¡Los necesitan para beber agua, tocar tus manos, jugar con otros caballos y para comer!
