🧡Some Angels Don’t Just Show Up… They Keep Showing Up. 🐾

Today, we want to send our deepest, most heartfelt THANK YOU to Rusty, Melissa & Char for their incredibly generous donation of dog food and supplies to Alfie’s Safe Haven Sanctuary. ❤️🐶

Their generosity means more to us than words can truly express.🙏🏼❤️

Summer in Baja is one of the hardest times of the year for animal welfare work.
The heat is relentless, a lot of community members are north, expenses continue to climb, and there are so many dogs in our community who need a little extra help. Keeping full bellies is already a tremendous responsibility — but thanks to people like Rusty, Melissa & Char, we are also able to extend that help to dogs in other initiatives and solo rescuers in our local community who are struggling to provide the food the animals in need that they take in.

And what makes their generosity even more special is that this isn’t the first time they’ve stepped up. They continue to help, again and again, especially when the need is greatest. That kind of kindness is something we never take for granted. ❤️

Their donation isn’t simply bags of food and supplies.

It means a hungry dog gets to eat.
It means another rescuer gets a little breathing room.
It means we can say “yes” when another dog needs help.
It means that, together, we can keep going when the summer months feel overwhelming.❤️‍🩹

Animal Welfare work is never a one-person job. It takes a community of people who believe that every dog deserves to be fed, vetted, cared for, loved and given a chance.

Our veterinary team brings skill, compassion, patience, and an extraordinary level of dedication to every clinic and every animal that comes through their doors. Behind every spay and neuter surgery is a team that works tirelessly to provide safe, compassionate care — often through very long and demanding days.

Without their dedication, SNAP simply could not do what we do.

Because of them, thousands of cats and dogs receive the care they need, families throughout our communities have access to free spay and neuter services, and together we are creating lasting change for animal welfare across the East Cape.

🚐❤️ THEY’VE WAITED LONG ENOUGH. LET’S GET THEM HOME. 🐾

Sometimes saving a life means more than finding a foster or an adopter.

Sometimes it means finding a way to get them there. ❤️

This summer, getting rescue dogs out of Baja has become incredibly difficult. Airline & angels options are limited, flights that can accommodate dogs are few and far between, and the cost of flying multiple dogs can add up quickly.

And with the extreme summer heat, waiting simply isn’t a good option.🥵

That’s where an incredible opportunity has come our way. 🙏

CJ & Allen are stepping up to drive from Portland down to Southern Baja and bring a load of rescue dogs back north with them. 🚐🐶🐶🐶🐶

This generous offer means several dogs who already have fosters or foster-to-adopt homes waiting in the Pacific Northwest and Canada can finally make their journey out of Baja and into their next chapter.

Southern Baja → Portland → Seattle → Canada. ❤️

We’ve already had someone generously help cover a hotel room for one night, and we are so incredibly grateful. 🙏🏼 Emma Nicholson 🙏🏼

Reba & Sheba - sisters rescued days apart after Reba was hit by a car and hit with a bat 🙈😭 Reba got the surgery needed and had a full recovery. Sheba had some treatments and care as well.
They spent many weeks at Hospital Veterinario Animal Health while they were treated & cared for. Just before they got their freedom flights north, they spent a couple of days in foster with Jackie Ayling!

We were lucky to raise enough money through sponsors to have a flight angel es**rt them to Portland as well cover their kennel fees.
There are so many to thank for making this amazing experience happen for these sweet sisters!

🧡 BOJANGLES NEEDS A 2-WEEK FOSTER! 🧡

12 years old • 60 lbs • Professional Sunbather • Expert Lounger • Sweet Old Soul

Meet Bojangles. 🐾

This handsome old guy has been through more than any dog should ever have to endure. He was rescued over Easter weekend and spent the next two weeks at the vet healing from his wounds and has been in foster with a couple of people since then.

And now?

He’s ready for a little vacation. ☀️🏡❤️

Bojangles is the definition of easygoing. He loves sunshine, very short leisurely walks around the yard, quiet time, and simply hanging out with his people. He’s not looking for adventure. He’s not looking to keep you busy.

He’s looking for some floor space, a comfy bed, a little sunshine, and someone who will tell him how handsome he is approximately 47 times a day. 😂

His wounds are completely healed, he’s slowly putting some much-needed weight back on, and his energy is good. He enjoys a little stroll around yard and then is perfectly happy to settle in and relax.

After everything he has been through, Bojangles still trusts people. He still leans in. He still has so much love to give.

🏡 What he needs:

❤️ A quiet, comfortable place to relax
❤️ Someone who will give him some love
❤️ Plenty of naps
❤️ Just TWO WEEKS of your time

That’s it. His current foster will be back at the end of August.

You don’t have to commit forever to make a difference in Bojangles’ life.

Sometimes, two weeks is enough to change everything.

He was seen at the corner of Calle 5 de Febrero & corner of Epigmenio Montaño but has not been seen for a couple of days.

They are very friendly and get along with each other and other dogs.
A local lady is trying to help many but her neighbours are threatening to hurt them & poison them 🙈🥺

If you are in southern Baja and can take one in, please message us!!! It’s urgent that we move them to safety as soon as possible!
