It has been a while since I last posted hereโ€ฆ

First, I want to thank you all for the incredible number of messages, comments and words of support I received after losing my beloved ๐“‘๐“ต๐“พ๐“ฎ ๐“œ๐“ธ๐“ธ๐“ท.๐Ÿค

I am sorry that I have not been able to reply to everyone. I read your messages, even when I did not have the strength to answer them, and they meant more to me than you probably realise.

I also owe you an explanation for my silence here.

For a while, I simply needed to disconnect from ๐“•๐“ต๐“ฎ๐“พ๐“ป๐“ผ ๐“ญ๐“ฎ ๐“Ÿ๐“ธ๐“ถ๐“ผ.
This page has always been such a happy place for me. A place filled with my Poms, puppies, births, silly moments and beautiful memories. And, of course, so much of ๐“‘๐“ต๐“พ๐“ฎ ๐“œ๐“ธ๐“ธ๐“ท.

After losing him, coming here was simply too painful.

The grief has been much harder than I could ever have imagined.

There have been moments when my mind became so consumed by ๐“‘๐“ต๐“พ๐“ฎ ๐“œ๐“ธ๐“ธ๐“ท that I would replay the accident over and over again in my head, thinking about what happened, what I could have done differently, desperately wishing I could go back and change the course of that day.

At times, those thoughts became so overwhelming that I experienced panic attacks.

That is also why I have tried to keep myself busy and surrounded by people. Being alone with my thoughts was sometimes simply too much.

I still see him everywhere.

I see him in places he would have loved. I imagine the pictures I would have taken of him, how he would have behaved, the attention he would have attracted and all the little โ€œwowsโ€ and โ€œawwwsโ€ from people passing by.

Sometimes it is something as simple as a butterfly appearing near meโ€ฆ๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿ’™
And for a few seconds, my heart wants to believe that my baby has found a little way of saying hello to his mummyโ€ฆ

There is still that instinct to look for him. To call him. To expect my little shadow to be there.

These past few weeks, however, have also given me moments when the pain became a little quieter.

I have been on holiday with my family and my parents, and I took two of my little ones with me. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพโค๏ธ

Being surrounded by the people I love, travelling, discovering new places, laughing together and watching my two babies enjoy every new adventure gave my mind some respite.

There were even moments when I forgot the pain for a while.

And I needed those moments.

My other Poms need their mummy too. Slowly, I have been finding my way back to them.

They know when something is wrong with their mummy. They come to me, kiss me even more and stay close, as though they were trying in their own little way to take some of the pain away. โค๏ธ

I have also received some precious news about ๐“‘๐“ต๐“พ๐“ฎ ๐“œ๐“ธ๐“ธ๐“ท.

The laboratory has successfully cultured enough of his cells to preserve a couple of vials.๐Ÿฉต

They are continuing to cultivate and expand more cells before cryopreserving them, so that as many of his cells as possible can be safely preserved for the future.

Knowing that those tiny living cells of my baby are there brings me a kind of comfort that is difficult to explain.

What I eventually decide to do with them remains a decision for another day.

For now, simply knowing that I still have that possibility is enough.

Grief does not follow a timetable.

I needed to step away from ๐“•๐“ต๐“ฎ๐“พ๐“ป๐“ผ ๐“ญ๐“ฎ ๐“Ÿ๐“ธ๐“ถ๐“ผ until being here no longer felt unbearable.

I am not ready to say that everything is fine.
It isnโ€™t.
I miss my baby terribly. Every single day.

But I think I am ready to slowly open the door to ๐“•๐“ต๐“ฎ๐“พ๐“ป๐“ผ ๐“ญ๐“ฎ ๐“Ÿ๐“ธ๐“ถ๐“ผ again.

And perhaps sharing a few pictures of the two little travellers who accompanied me on our family holidays is the right place to start.

Thank you for still being here.
Thank you for your patience during my silence.

And, above all, thank you for having loved my beautiful ๐“‘๐“ต๐“พ๐“ฎ ๐“œ๐“ธ๐“ธ๐“ท with me. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿค๐ŸŒ™๐Ÿฆ‹

This is the last picture I ever took of my beloved ๐“‘๐“ต๐“พ๐“ฎ ๐“œ๐“ธ๐“ธ๐“ท.

It was taken about an hour before the accident that would take him away from me forever.

On 14 June, at around 4pm, a terrible accident happened.

His world stopped.
And mine did too.

๐“‘๐“ต๐“พ๐“ฎ ๐“œ๐“ธ๐“ธ๐“ท was not โ€œjust a Pomโ€.
He was my baby. My shadow. My constant companion.

He followed me everywhere. He was never sent to boarding. If I travelled, he travelled. If I worked, he was nearby. If I sat down, he was usually somewhere close, watching me with those big eyes.

On 3 July, he would have turned 6 years old.

Instead, I find myself staring at this picture, wishing I could step back into that moment.
Just one hour earlier.
Just long enough to hold him a little tighter.
Just long enough to save him.

The guilt is difficult to put into words.

My nights have been restless since he passed away. I dream about him. I see him everywhere. I still catch myself calling his name.

Nothing has felt quite real.

I buried him beneath a plum tree, chosen to honour the colour of his beautiful blue coat, hoping that Mother Nature would gently weave him back into the cycle of life.

The following morning, on Monday 15 June, I made the painful decision to exhume him.

I simply could not bear the thought of losing every possibility of seeing him again.

What followed was an obstacle course of research, phone calls, veterinary visits, paperwork and urgent international shipments as I tried to preserve his DNA.

His skin, ear, and hair samples arrived at the laboratory on Tuesday 16 June.

Last week, while boarding a plane, I received news that brought me the first moment of relief since his passing.

The laboratory had successfully isolated viable cells from my baby.

Given the circumstances and the delay before preservation, there had never been any certainty that this would be possible.

It took everything I had not to burst into tears at the airport.

The laboratory has since continued expanding and cryopreserving those cells, creating the possibility that one day, if I choose to do so and life allows it, another little ๐“‘๐“ต๐“พ๐“ฎ ๐“œ๐“ธ๐“ธ๐“ท could enter my life.

I know there are ethical debates around cloning.
I respect that.

But right now, I am living in a world shaped by grief.
A world where very little makes sense.
A world where simply knowing that the option exists brings me a small measure of comfort.

Whether I ever decide to pursue it is a question for another day.
For now, it is enough to know that the door remains open.

Over the past 2 weeks, I have tried to keep moving.

I have not cancelled business meetings, events or trips.
Staying busy helps.
Being alone with my thoughts often does not.

For an entire week, I could barely look at my other Pomeranians. Every time I did, I was reminded that he was missing.

The pain was simply too overwhelming.

And then came another form of guilt, because they need their mummy too. They need me too. I am their entire world.
They know something is wrong with their mummy. They come and kiss me even more, as if they were trying to take some of the pain away.

After much reflection, I have decided to pause my breeding programme for the remainder of the year, and likely until further notice.

I do not have the heart for it at the moment.

๐“‘๐“ต๐“พ๐“ฎ ๐“œ๐“ธ๐“ธ๐“ท was my once in a lifetime Pom.

The kind that leaves paw prints not only on your heart, but on your soul.

I love you my baby.
I always will. ๐Ÿค๐ŸŒˆ
When I look at the night sky, I see you, shining bright among the stars.โœจ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ
We will see each other again one dayโ€ฆ

๐“š๐“ฎ๐“ท๐”‚๐“ช and her other son, ๐“๐“ป๐“ถ๐“ช๐“ท๐“ฒ.

Just like his half-brother ๐“ค๐“ฐ๐“ธ, ๐“๐“ป๐“ถ๐“ช๐“ท๐“ฒ still goes to his mama for comfort from time to time.
I caught her gently grooming and kissing her sonsโ€™ faces.โค๏ธ
They are never far from her.

In the last picture, I managed to capture the 3 of them together:

๐“š๐“ฎ๐“ท๐”‚๐“ช at the front, ๐“ค๐“ฐ๐“ธ just behind her on the left, and ๐“๐“ป๐“ถ๐“ช๐“ท๐“ฒ at the far end.
The two other Poms in the picture are ๐“š๐“ฒ๐“ท๐“ฐ and ๐“๐“ผ๐“ฝ๐“ธ๐“ท.

If you are wondering about their colours:

๐“š๐“ฎ๐“ท๐”‚๐“ช is dark cream sable. As a puppy, she was much darker, like a wolf baby.

๐“ค๐“ฐ๐“ธ is black & silver.

๐“๐“ป๐“ถ๐“ช๐“ท๐“ฒ is dark wolf, tested ๐€๐ฐ/๐€๐ญ. He was completely black at birth, which is typical for dark wolves. His wolf markings and colours are beautifully defined. His coat is simply breathtaking, making me very proud.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‡

๐“š๐“ฒ๐“ท๐“ฐ is dark wolf too, tested ๐€๐ฐ/๐€ but with different wolf markings, likely influenced by the recessive black allele ๐€. He carries more black throughout his coat than ๐“๐“ป๐“ถ๐“ช๐“ท๐“ฒ.

๐“๐“ผ๐“ฝ๐“ธ๐“ท is particolor-sable.

๐“๐“ป๐“ถ๐“ช๐“ท๐“ฒ and ๐“๐“ผ๐“ฝ๐“ธ๐“ท are currently looking for their families, as pets only (no breeding).

Mother and son: ๐“š๐“ฎ๐“ท๐”‚๐“ช and ๐“ค๐“ฐ๐“ธ.๐“š๐“ฎ๐“ท๐”‚๐“ช still remains deeply attached to her sons, ๐“ค๐“ฐ๐“ธ who is almost 3 years old, and ๐“๐“ป๐“ถ๐“ช๐“ท๐“ฒ...
