Yellow like sunlight finding its way through leaves.
We slowed the horses by the stream and the forest revealed what it always does when given patience. A pair of Black-hooded Orioles (වඩු කුරුල්ලා) drifted through the palms, calling to each other, alive and unbothered by our presence.
There is a particular kind of joy in witnessing life continue exactly as it should.
This is the privilege of moving quietly on horseback at Vonfidel Ranch.
