Some of you already know and some of you don’t, but my family and I moved to West Virginia last weekend. I still plan to come to NJ once a month for clients wanting to lesson with me. I will be in NJ tomorrow and Wednesday for anyone interested in doing a lesson with me. Please message me so I can get you on the schedule! 🐶🐾

Little Grimm has had a busy two weeks learning all the things! 🖤
He is so smart and picks up new skills incredibly quickly. People are always asking me how old he is, and they’re usually shocked to hear that he’s only a little over 4 months old!

We’ve been spending a lot of time working on being neutral in highly distracting environments, and he’s doing such a great job. He’s also learning how to be a great hiking buddy just like his dog sisters.

Along with our hiking adventures, Grimm is figuring out what it means to be a farm dog! He recently went on his first ride around the farm and followed along with me and my horse perfectly.

It has been so much fun watching his confidence grow and seeing everything start to come together. He really is such an incredible little dog, and I can’t wait to see what else he learns! 🐾

If you’re looking for a puppy or dog seriously check out Don’t Bully Us Rescue in South Jersey. All three of my dogs are from them and all of them have been just about perfect in every way. All other DBU pups I’ve met and worked with have also been almost perfect. Check them out!

This week Grimm took an adventure over to Home Depot to work on ignoring people, loud sounds, scary machinery, and other pets while walking. We also worked on building his confidence by having him do some commands he knows really well on different surfaces, the plywood is pictured, but not pictured is the big flat bed cart. He took a picture with the scary Halloween decorations while working on his “sit and stay” command. He is also learning how to be a farm dog and work on his off leash skills which he does exceptionally well at. Still nervous about his horse brothers, but he’ll warm up to them soon. Another great week of training on the books though!

Grimm’s first week has been full of fun adventures, training sessions, and confidence building. Here’s a video of what he’s been learning so far🤍🖤

Day three of Grimm’s training consisted of some sit and down stays and confidence building in Tractor Supply. He did fantastic!

“Great dogs aren’t born; they’re made.”

Meet Grimm!

He’s the newest member of the Level Up family. Grimm is a 3.5 month old pit bull mix from Don’t Bully Us Rescue.

I’ll be sharing plenty of his training sessions. Like building good habits, learning basic manners, socialization, and confidence.

One of my favorite things about puppy training is that it’s not about having a “perfect” puppy. It’s about building communication, setting them up for success, and creating a great relationship from the beginning.

Welcome to the Level Up crew, Grimm! 🖤🤍

For those of you that don’t know I also ride and train horses. I say all the time that horse training and dog training are very similar. This video of my clients dog, Teddy, really showcases the similarity 🤣🏇🐶

~Teddy is a 6mo old large breed mix puppy that is learning how to behave nicely before he gets the size of Clifford The Big Red Dog, except he’ll be “Teddy The Big Black Dog” lol! Anyway, in this video we are working on getting him to listen to the martingale collars corrections. He has been pushing straight through the martingales so we are doing a tandem leash set up with a prong collar and a martingale collar. We use voice first, then the martingale, then the prong collar. Each step we give him a 10-15yr one window before asking him again to not pull. He’s responding very well and will be back to using just the martingale in no time! Stay tuned to see future updates of Teddy!

(Black leash is martingale, pink leash is prong)
