We Are Shifting... And We Need You. 🙏🐾With a heavy heart and a hopeful soul, I am writing this.Our small world is shifting to a new place. For my babies, it's not just a shift it's leaving the only home they have ever known.I have 21 babies. Some are blind, some have 3 legs, some are old and can't walk. They are not just dogs, they are my family. My fauji kids who taught me to adjust everywhere. 28th September. we are moving them to the new centre.I can't do it alone. I really can't.
Carrying them, calming them, making them feel safe in this chaos I need hands. I need hearts.If you have ever loved my babies from far, this is the time to be there for them.We need volunteers for

Chandrika Yolmo Lama is an educator, animal welfare advocate, and humanitarian whose work is defined by compassion, consistency, and a deep commitment to animals in need. Based in Siliguri, West Bengal, she has devoted years to rescuing, feeding, treating, and rehabilitating stray dogs, turning what began as a personal act of kindness into a sustained mission of animal welfare.

With an MPhil in Economics, Chandrika built a distinguished career in education, serving as Principal at two Army schools and GD Goenka School in Aligarh. Her connection with animal welfare began nearly two decades ago during her family's Army posting in Hisar, where adopting a stray dog marked the beginning of a lasting commitment to animals.

Today, her daily routine extends far beyond conventional professional responsibilities. Through early-morning rounds, she provides food and care to more than 70 stray dogs every day and has helped rescue, treat, and rehabilitate over 200 dogs affected by illness and injury. Her work involves not only feeding animals but also responding to cases of disease, injury, abandonment, and vulnerability.

Chandrika's journey demonstrates how sustained individual action can create meaningful social impact. By dedicating her time and resources to animals that often remain unseen and unheard, she continues to build a more compassionate environment for the voiceless—showing that humanitarian service can take many forms, including simply choosing to care every day.
