The situation in Nepal is extremely serious. After the devastating flash floods, 165 people have died and 826 remain missing, with rescue teams still searching affected areas. Roads, bridges, communications and infrastructure have been badly damaged, making access and relief extremely difficult.

The immediate emergency is not over. Nepal needs serious support on the ground — now.

Humanitarian relief must reach people who have lost their homes, families, livelihoods and access to essential services. At the same time, animals are also suffering and need rescue, veterinary care, food, water and shelter.

RESCUE IS NOT A PHOTO OPPORTUNITY — IT IS A LIFELONG RESPONSIBILITY

Anyone can attempt a rescue, whether it is easy or extremely difficult. It may take an hour, a full day, or even longer to complete.

But the real challenge begins after the rescue.

Rescue requires mental strength, physical effort, responsibility, financial resources, continuous care, and the courage to take risks. Every rescued animal becomes a responsibility—not just for a few hours, but sometimes for months or even a lifetime.

Unfortunately, people often forget this part. Some believe that once the animal has been rescued, their responsibility is finished. But rescue is only the beginning—not the end.

If someone repeatedly takes credit for rescues but does not take responsibility for treatment, recovery, shelter, food, follow-up care, or the animal’s future, then serious questions must be asked about their intentions.

When responsibility disappears after the publicity is over, it can make people question whether the motivation was fame, publicity, personal gain, or money.

True rescue is not about being seen as a hero for one moment. True rescue means standing with the animal until it is safe, stable, and properly cared for.

Rescue is not just an act. It is a commitment—and sometimes a lifelong responsibility.
