THE WORLD IS STARTING TO SEE WHAT PANGOLINS MEAN. 🐾

Pangolins have lived quietly alongside us for millions of years.

Yet today, they are among the most heavily trafficked wild mammals on Earth.

A new National Geographic story shines a light on the fight to save them and takes readers inside the work being done by conservationists across Africa.
We are incredibly proud that the work of Tikki Hywood Foundation, in Zimbabwe and Cameroon, is part of this story.

From rescuing pangolins from the illegal wildlife trade, to the painstaking work of rehabilitation, natural foraging and returning them to the wild; every animal represents a chance to learn, protect and restore.

Because saving a pangolin isn’t simply about saving one animal.

It’s about protecting a species that has survived for millions of years.

Armoured, but they still need protection.

Found near water bodies, rice paddies, wetlands, and grassy fields

They are active during the day and are most common during the rainy monsoon season

They mostly eat small frogs, toads, tadpoles, and earthworm
