Most packaging protects a product.
Few packaging systems improve the consumer experience.

Recently, I came across an egg packaging format that stood out for its practicality and communication.

Instead of one large tray, the eggs were divided into smaller packs, making storage easier, handling safer and daily usage more convenient.

What stood out even more was the communication on the pack: hygiene details, testing information, traceability references and founder contact details.

Add a touch of quirky storytelling and packaging becomes more than functional. It becomes engaging.

A good reminder that innovation isn’t always about complexity.
Sometimes, it is simply about understanding everyday consumer problems better.

Healthy flocks don’t fail overnight. They show signs early but most go unnoticed.

A simple daily bird check can reveal:
• Health issues
• Feeding imbalances
• Environmental stress

Clear eyes clean feathering crop condition and alertness are not small details. They are early warnings.

In poultry farming the difference is rarely technology.
It is attention.

Consistent observation leads to: Better health outcomes Improved growth performance Reduced losses

Because in this business prevention is cheaper than correction and faster too.

Veterinarians are often seen as healthcare providers for animals.
In reality, their role is much larger.
They are critical to:
* Farm productivity
* Food safety
* Disease prevention
* Public health systems
From designing vaccination programs to advising on nutrition, biosecurity, and responsible medication use, veterinarians are deeply integrated into every stage of animal production.
In sectors like poultry, dairy, and aquaculture, consistent performance is not possible without strong veterinary support.
Their work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is visible across the entire value chain.
On World Veterinary Day, we acknowledge the science, responsibility, and commitment that veterinarians bring to the industry every day.
Because healthy animals are the foundation of a healthy food system.

Earth Day isn’t just about awareness it’s about accountability.

Sustainability in animal farming is no longer a choice it’s a responsibility. From healthier livestock to efficient resource use every decision we make today shapes the future of food farmers and the planet.

Real impact lies in balance where productivity meets responsibility and tradition evolves with science.

Because caring for animals is ultimately caring for the planet.

From Gross Energy to Net Energy, dairy nutrition has become far more precise over time.
Energy systems have evolved from GE to DE to ME to NE.
Protein systems have also shifted from crude protein to metabolizable protein with a stronger focus on amino acids.
Why does this matter?
Because a large portion of feed energy never gets used by the animal. It is lost through f***s, urine, gases and heat. What remains as Net Energy is what actually supports maintenance, milk production and growth.
The same applies to protein. It is no longer about how much protein is fed, but how efficiently it is utilized.
Understanding this helps improve feed efficiency, reduce input costs, enhance animal performance and support more sustainable production systems.
In the end, success in modern dairy nutrition comes down to one thing , feeding smarter, not just feeding more.

Certain food beliefs have been passed down for generations.
But not all of them hold up when we look at science.

A common one “Chicken causes heat in the body”

In reality chicken is a lean high-quality protein. It doesn’t inherently increase body “heat”
What people experience is usually influenced by cooking methods spices overall diet and even weather conditions

This is where awareness matters

Understanding the difference between cultural perception and nutritional science helps us make better more informed choices

Protein plays a critical role in immunity muscle maintenance and overall health
And for many households chicken remains one of the most accessible and efficient sources

Food traditions matter
But so do facts

Food conversations are changing a lot these days and honestly that’s a good thing.

Celebrities talking about veganism have definitely helped bring attention to things like animal welfare and sustainability. Those are important topics no doubt.

But at the same time nutrition also has to stay practical.

Chicken is still one of the most affordable and reliable sources of protein out there. It’s been part of everyday diets for generations and for a lot of people it just works simple as that.

Plant-based options are growing fast too which is great to see. More choice is always good. But many of these products are quite processed with added emulsifiers and preservatives to get that similar taste and texture. They also tend to be expensive which makes them less realistic for a lot of people especially outside metro cities.

In the end it’s not really about picking sides.

Different diets work for different people depending on what they believe in what they need nutritionally and what they can actually afford.

For us it comes down to one thing being informed.

Because awareness matters more than trends.

Myth: Eggs are only for gym-goers.
Fact: Eggs are for everyone.
Affordable, nutrient-dense and versatile , eggs support daily nutrition across all age groups when consumed in moderation.
Let’s move from perception to science.

Geopolitical conflicts rarely stay confined to politics, they eventually ripple through agriculture and food systems.
The recent escalation involving the United States, Israel and Iran is already influencing global commodity markets through energy prices, feed ingredient volatility, fertilizer supply risks and shipping disruptions.
For the animal industry, these pressures translate into higher production costs, formulation challenges and potential supply chain bottlenecks.
Understanding these connections is essential for building resilient livestock systems in an increasingly interconnected world.
In modern agriculture, geopolitics, energy, feed, and food security are closely linked.
What are your thoughts on how global conflicts influence the livestock and feed industry?
