We're thrilled to announce that two of our rescue hamsters found new homes this weekend! Both were dwarf hamsters, and thanks to applications already in progress when they arrived into our care, we were able to match them with adopters very quickly. It would be fantastic if every hamster that came into rescue could be rehomed so smoothly! 🥰
Nacho was the first to head home. This 1-year-old Russian dwarf hamster came into rescue when his previous family felt they could no longer give him the attention and care he deserved. We're happy to hear that he has already settled into his new home and is enjoying life with his new family.
May the Roborovski was next to be adopted. May came into rescue after being housed with another hamster, which had led to fighting between them. (A reminder that hamsters are solitary animals and should never be kept together). Poor May had been put in a very stressful and dangerous situation, so we were very glad we could get her to safety. May's adopter has spent the last few weeks preparing a home for a new hamster, after her previous hamster sadly passed away. We know how hard it can be to start again after losing a pet, but we're so happy that May now has a loving home to call her own.
Thank you to both adopters for choosing to adopt a rescue hamster. We wish Nacho, May and their new families the very best of luck. 💖
