Lovely Sunday morning social walk with a few of the gang at Oak Park, followed by a hot chocolate and pup cups from Vintage Coffee Box (10/10 lemon cake, definitely recommend!)

Looked like the new playground was being appreciated by the visiting children and everyone was enjoying the dry weather. What more could you ask for? 😊

A few of us went for a relaxed social walk over the weekend in Oak Park. The dogs got to sniff everything at their leisure and the humans got to have a bit of a chat. See you at the next one!

Canicross Ireland is holding their next race event at Rathwood, Tullow, Carlow on the 8th of February! There are 3 weeks left until race day, so if this sounds like something you would enjoy, sign up today using the link below!

Join us for a run or walk to prepare for this race in advance and see if your fuzzy friend would enjoy this fantastic sport. More dogs, more friends, more fun!

All race participants must be Canicross Ireland members so make sure you sign up for membership first. You will receive a code allowing you to attend your first ever race for free. Race entries close Sunday the 1st of February at 23:59pm.

We’re pleased to be able to confirm the venue for our next race in February.

As Lough Key is no longer a suitable venue, and short timeframe to organise an alternate venue, the committee have decided on a return to Rathwood. This does mean we will need to switch to a day race on *Sunday 8th February.*

We realise some may be disappointed with losing out on the night race, however, this was deemed the best option, as it allows us to confirm the venue as early as possible, giving members as much notice as we can.
We also received positive feedback from members on the trail so don’t believe anyone will be disappointed to be revisiting Rathwood again.

PLEASE NOTE : Due to the technical nature of the trail, 2 dog scooter or first time wheels competitors will not be permitted to take part in this event.

We look forward to seeing you in Rathwood on Sunday 8th February.

If you have already registered, you do not need to do anything further. If registered and attending Rathwood on Sunday 8th no longer suits you, please email secretary and we will arrange a transfer of your entry to our Drewstown event in March

Some of our group attended Canicross Irelands third race of the season last Sunday at in Carlow. It was great fun and we are looking forward to the next one!

Thank you to everyone who attended especially Julie Ann, Ciara and Fiona who came for support even though they were not racing, you’re the best😊❤️

Thank you to the sponsors, we all loved the goodie bags and a few of us got spot prizes too!

Next race is 3.5 weeks away, let’s get ready!

Tomorrow we will be at Ranchos Dog Friendly Café from 10-12!

Drop by and try out canicross, a fun way to bond with your dog and improve your fitness. We will have gear available to borrow and a raffle to win some dog and human goodies! No entry fees, just drop by and have a bit of fun.

Suitable for brand new people whether you walk, jog or run. A great sport with a greater community, start your new year with a new hobby you’re sure to love.

Try your hand at canicross, a sled-dog sport you and your dog will love. Zero experience required, suitable for all fitness levels (and we mean ALL)!

We will have all the equipment required available to borrow on the day (limited so first come first serve).

All attendees names will be entered into a draw for a hamper of human and dog goodies!

Completely free, drop by for a bit of fun and to learn about this great sport!

The next Canicross Ireland race has been announced and will be taking place at Rathwood in Carlow! Super handy trip for any of us nearby 😁

The race will take place on the 11th of January with more details being announced closer to the event.

If you are interested in taking part you have to be a member first and then will recieve an email with a code letting you have your first race free.

Championship and recreational classes available. Should be a bit of fun for the day! Hope to see some of you there! 😊😁

PROVISIONAL EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT (Please ensure that you read the announcement fully)

We are pleased to announce that the next race of our 2025/26 season will take place on Sunday the 11th January 2026 in Rathwood, Tullow, Carlow, R93X3F9

Trail videos and other information will be shared soon.

While we welcome recce of the trail, please note, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES can the trails be recce'd on wheels!

Rathwood have stipulated that this is not allowed prior to the event as the trails are walking and running trails only and their insurance will not cover anything wheels related, however they have graciously allowed us to do wheels for our race on the 11th of January. Any breaking of this rule will result in loss of use of the trail and cancellation of the event. This is something we don't want, considering how difficult it was to find a new suitable venue as an alternate to our December location in such a short period of time, so we kindly ask all members do not bring any wheels to Rathwood before the official race.

We thank you for your patience while we located a new venue, and thank you for observing the no wheels recce rule.

It’s dark so early now, but it won’t stop us!

If you don’t want to walk these darker hours alone feel free to join us for a walk, jog or run (wether you have a dog or not)!

During running we try increase our fitness and speed over time. During walks we have a chat and just get some steps (and sniffs) in!

No fees, no membership, just send us a message to be added to the WhatsApp group and arrange to meet up whenever suits you.
