Working Retriever Club of Hungary

www.workingretriever.hu Similar to several countries within Europe, we would like to promote a better understanding and knowledge of the WORKING RETRIEVERS.

At the end of 2005, we founded the WORKING RETRIEVER CLUB OF HUNGARY (WRC)– with this club one of our greatest dreams came true. Some friends, who became closer due to the common hobby, the goal, and the desire to support the retriever sport in our country, decided to work seriously to achieve their goals, whilst still trying to keep it all fun, and founded a retriever club which is dedicated to working retrievers.¤

Our club is giving us more and more job in the meantime, but we still continue to take pleasure in our time together with the dogs, and enjoy the success, as well as accepting the failures, and we try to keep sight of the most important thing: the interest of the working retriever breeds. Since 2005 our club is organising international field trials, working tests, dummy trials, training seminars with great success.

Új lendület, új feladatok, de a cél továbbra is ugyanaz: a retrieverek és a kutyás sport szeretete! 🐾❤️

Új csapat, új feladatok, új ötletek – a lelkesedés pedig változatlan! 💪🐾
Dolgozzunk együtt tovább a retrieverekért és a kutyás sportért! ❤️

New momentum, new responsibilities, but the goal remains the same: our love for retrievers and dog sports! 🐾❤️

At the most recent General Assembly of the Working Retriever Club of Hungary , a new Board was elected following the resignation of Zsolt and Péter:

President: Emese Csóka
Board Members: Orsolya Schmidt and Csaba Molnár

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our former President, Zsolt Böszörményi, for his work over the past years, his commitment, and all the energy he has devoted to the Club! ❤️

Zsolt is, of course, not saying goodbye to the Association: he will continue his work in the future as Field Trial Secretary. 🏆

Péter Yandó will now continue his work as Chairman of the Ethics Committee. We would like to thank him as well for everything he has done so far and for taking on this new responsibility! 👏🐾

A new team, new responsibilities, new ideas – but the same enthusiasm! 💪🐾

Let’s continue working together for retrievers and dog sports! ❤️

🐾 Kezdő retrieveresek, most hozzátok fordulunk!

👉 Most tényleg őszinte válaszokra vagyunk kíváncsiak!

🐾 Beginner retriever handlers, we’d love to hear from you!

We are already planning our competitions for next year, and we would really like to understand why so few beginner retriever handlers take the step and enter a competition.

Over the past two years, only around 6–8 dogs in total have entered our Puppy/Newcomer classes. We would like to understand what is behind this, because we can only create competitions and an environment that are more suitable and welcoming for beginners if we know what is holding people back.

🤔 Why don’t you feel ready or want to enter a competition?

• Are you worried about the unfamiliar situation?
• Are you afraid that your dog won’t perform the way they normally do at home?
• Does the judging situation itself, or being close to a judge, make you feel uncertain?
• Are you not sure exactly how a competition works?
• Do you feel that you and your dog are not prepared enough yet?
• Are you worried that your dog – or perhaps you 😊 – might make mistakes in front of other people?
• Are you unsure whether your dog’s current level of training is enough to enter?
• Or do you simply feel that the time is not right yet?

And of course, there may be a completely different reason.

👉 We are genuinely interested in your honest answers!

Please share in the comments what is holding you back from entering a competition, or what you are worried about when thinking about your first one.

Our goal is not to persuade anyone to compete. We simply want to understand the perspective of beginners, so that we can take these things into consideration when planning next year’s competitions.

And if you have already competed as a beginner:
❤️ What were you most worried about before your first competition? And what did you discover afterwards?

Your answer might help another beginner take that first step. 🐕

🏆🐾 PANNONIA CUP 2027 – ÚJRAÉLESZTJÜK A LEGENDÁT! 🐾🏆

🐕🐕🐕 3 kutya (begginer, novice, open) – 1 csapat
📅 2 nap verseny
🌿 igazi vadászkutyás terület
🏆 fantasztikus bírók
🎭 és természetesen a legendás jelmezes csapatok!

Igen, jól olvastátok: jelmezes csapatok! 😄
A következő képeken néhány régi Pannonia Cup fotót mutatunk nektek, hogy azok is átérezzék, mit jelentett egy ilyen jelmezes kutyás verseny – és milyen hangulatban telt ez a hétvége. 🎭🐕😂

Keress magatok mellé valakit, aki vállalná a segítséget! 🙏

Pannonia Cup – 2027.
❤️ A legenda visszatér. ❤️

Ki jön velünk? 👇

🏆🐾 PANNONIA CUP 2027 – THE LEGEND RETURNS! 🐾🏆

Some of you remember it… while others have only heard the stories about what the Pannonia Cup was like. 😉
And now, it’s time to bring it back! 🎉

The Pannonia Cup is a unique three-dog team competition, jointly organized by the Working Retriever Club of Hungary and the Austrian Retriever Club.

🐕🐕🐕 3 dogs (begginer, novice, open) – 1 team
📅 2 days of competition
🌿 a genuine hunting ground
🏆 fantastic judges
🎭 and, of course, the legendary costume teams!

Yes, you read that right: COSTUME TEAMS! 😄

We’re sharing some old Pannonia Cup photos with you, so that those who have never experienced it can get a feeling of what a costume dog competition really means – and what an incredible atmosphere these weekends had! 🎭🐕😂

Because this was never just a competition.

It was a weekend together, a big retriever gathering, and one hell of a party! ❤️

But there’s just one little problem… 😇

To bring the Pannonia Cup back to life in 2027, we need 15–20 dedicated and selfless volunteers to help us run the two-day event as stewards, throwers and members of the administration team.

👉 Without helpers, there can be no Pannonia Cup!

So if you have a good dog and you’re already thinking about which friends you could form an awesome three-dog team with, we have one more challenge for you:

Find someone among your friends who would be willing to join us as a volunteer! 🙏

A friend, family member, former competitor, enthusiastic retriever person – anyone who would enjoy being part of this very special weekend.

Because we want to compete together, help each other, laugh together, dress up, and most importantly, have an unforgettable party again in 2027! 🥳🐾

Pannonia Cup – 2027.
❤️ The legend returns. ❤️

Who’s coming with us? 👇

🤝 We are also looking for sponsors and supporters to help make Pannonia Cup 2027 happen!
Whether you would like to support the event through your company, business or as a private individual, we would be delighted to have you join us in bringing this special retriever event back to life! ❤️🐾

📸 If you have any photos from one of the previous Pannonia Cups, please share them in the comments! We’d love to bring back the old memories together and show everyone what an amazing atmosphere these weekends had! ❤️🐾
