Hello, strangers… and hello again to all of my lovely Pawchella people. 🤍

I think it’s probably time I explained my little disappearing act.

I’ve not really been active on here since June, and I’m genuinely sorry for going so quiet. Pawchella takes up so much of my time, heart, stress, planning and energy — and I absolutely love it with everything I have — but sometimes it takes its toll too.

And, if you’ve been around for a while, you’ll know that the last couple of years have been… a lot.

Last year we lost my beautiful Willow, and my lovely Grandad, and we’ve since reached the anniversaries of both of their deaths. This year we’ve had to say goodbye to my handsome boy Frankie, and more recently, my lovely Grandma. Alongside all of that, there have been plenty of other things happening behind the scenes too.

Sometimes, I’ve just needed to breathe.

I’m someone who can find social media quite overwhelming when I’m already feeling a little low or overloaded, and rather than forcing myself to keep showing up, I decided to take the pressure away for a while.

And honestly? I think I needed it.

The time away has been a really good reset. 🤍

For the first time, we’ve also taken a break from doing shows, which has been really strange and, if I’m honest, quite sad. Shows have been such a huge part of Hounds & Co and our lives for so long.

We’ve still been to lots of events as visitors, though, and it’s actually been lovely to experience them from the other side. It’s given me the chance to take a step back, breathe, and look at everything from a much bigger picture.

And then, because apparently I didn’t have enough going on… 😂

I started a new job after leaving my previous one of 10 years. We moved house. 🏡 (There’s a whole story about that one coming soon!) And I’m now riding a new horse. 🐴

So yes… life has been rather full.

But amongst all the change, loss, excitement, stress and everything in between, I’ve realised just how much I’ve missed this little corner of the internet — and all of you.

So, this is me saying hello again. 👋🏼

✨🐾 PAWCHELLA 2026 – THANK YOU ❤️ 🐾✨

Now that I’ve finally had a chance to sit down, catch my breath and reflect on Sunday, I just want to say a truly heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make Pawchella 2026 so special.

Pawchella simply wouldn’t happen without the incredible people around me who give up their time to help bring this event to life. To my amazing family who I inevitably rope into helping every year – thank you. ❤️

To my mum, who looked after my stall all day. To my nan and gramps, who manned the entrance and battled with the card machine from morning until evening. To my fiancé, who kept the dog show entries running smoothly. To my father-in-law, who helped set up, pack away and even judged the dog show. To Jamie, who managed the Sniff Safari and helped organise the dog show prizes. You all worked so hard and I am endlessly grateful.

A huge shoutout to Martin Rowley, our fantastic dog show host, who kept the crowds entertained and the classes running brilliantly throughout the day.

A massive thank you to our Pawchella Ambassadors who helped spread the word and supported the event long before the gates even opened.

To all of our wonderful stallholders who believed in the event and booked their spaces months in advance – thank you for trusting us and helping create such an amazing atmosphere.

And to every single person who bought a ticket, entered the dog show, shopped with our stallholders, supported our charities, or simply came along to enjoy the day with their dogs – thank you. Every single one of you played a part in making Pawchella what it was.

Finally, a huge thank you to Flaxton Dog Park for allowing us to host Pawchella for the third year running. We’re incredibly grateful for your continued support.

Without every single person mentioned above, none of this would have been possible, and I genuinely cannot thank you enough. ❤️

I can now reveal that I’ve finally worked out exactly how much we raised for our two incredible charities, York Against Cancer and Canine Cancer Research. Before I announce the total publicly, I want to tell the charities first, but I can honestly say I am so proud of what we’ve achieved together.

Knowing that, as a community, we’ve helped contribute towards research, treatment and support for both people and dogs affected by cancer makes every late night, every bit of stress and every ounce of effort that goes into organising Pawchella completely worthwhile. Thank you for helping us support causes that are making a real difference to so many lives. ❤️

One thing I am slightly disappointed about is that I didn’t get nearly enough time to shop around all the amazing stalls myself—and I’m sure some of you feel the same! 😂 Don’t worry though, I’ll be sharing all of our stallholders again on our socials so you can continue to support the fantastic small businesses that joined us this year.

On a more personal note, whilst Sunday was one of the happiest days of the year for me, it was also one of the most emotional.

After losing my beautiful Frankie and Willow to cancer over the last year, there were many moments throughout the day when I wished they could have been there enjoying it all. This was the first Pawchella I’ve hosted without Frankie by my side, and I won’t pretend that wasn’t incredibly difficult.

But deep down, I know they were there in spirit—watching over the event, keeping an eye on all the dogs and probably barking their approval from above. ❤️🐾

Their memory is a huge part of why Pawchella exists and why the charities we support mean so much to me. Seeing so many wonderful people come together to celebrate dogs, support dog lovers and raise money for such important causes filled me with pride, and I know Frankie and Willow would have loved every second of it.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of the Pawchella family.

What we’ve built together is so much more than an event. It’s a community. ❤️

“It’s my party I can do what I want”

Yesterday we had Sidney’s first birthday party with our families and it’s safe to say he thoroughly enjoyed himself. Sidney’s grandmas, grandpa, aunties, uncles, great nanny and great gramps all got together to celebrate him! And my sisters dog and mums two dogs. I’m hoping next year he might have made some dog friends who like him and can come as a lot of dogs aren’t his biggest fans.

If anyone is thinking about having a dog birthday party do it! There’s enough bad things that happen in life that we should all celebrate at every opportunity 🎉
