Thank you Farriery Tuition for running an excellent CPD course at the forge in Stoneleigh. I certainly learnt alot and would 100% recommend there courses to anyone, weather its for exam prep or just for self improvement.

Highlight for me was making an aluminium heartbar shoe, it was my first time forgeing ali let alone welding them up.

Fitting a pair of EasyCare shoes today.

Today I applied these shoes, after an initial consultation and conversation with the owner. The horse in this case is an ex racehorse and as is far to common there feet are in a bad way, and after the consultation I decided this was the best way forward.

I will return in 4 weeks to see how we have progressed, so as usual watch this space.

If there are any questions, as always please dont hesitate to ask.

💥 Breaking News💥

I have been accepted on the Diploma Higher Education Farriery course at College, starting in a few weeks time. I am very excited about the course, however I would be a liar if I didn't say im a little apprehensive about going back in to education with a tiny 20+ year gap 😆.

So time to knuckle down on my academic knowledge and practical skills.

Wish me luck and I will bring you all along for the ride of course, so watch this space.

Well I have been sitting on this for a little while and I'm very excited to announce the next step in my Farriery journey in north Wales. I have now got my own forge set up (not fully set up yet), where I will be shoeing horses, making shoes, remedial work-ups and referrals, as well as other fun blacksmithing projects.

It's another huge step forward and in under a year since establishing my business in the area. There are some more exciting projects on the horizon and the setting up of the forge will be a huge step towards those.

I am very grateful to all who have helped me no matter how big or small, everything is remembered.

I am very grateful for my wonderful customers you are all top notch and have really helped me fall in love with the job all over again. I look forward to our continued work together and welcome all new potential customers with open arms, please drop me a message and I will see what I can do to accommodate you.

P.s I got over excited today and had to make a pair of shoes. Its probably been 15 years or more since I last bashed out a set, very out of practice and my tools were as well maintained as my practice 🤣. So please be kind, I welcome helpful criticism and will be grateful for all advice.

I would be particularly welcoming of advice from regular competitors in shoeing comps for best tools and set ups, as you will see when I post the video of making them my kit is dated to say the least.
