TIME FOR A BIG CATCH UP 🐾

In between being poorly for multiple weeks in the past month, being very busy and just life in general I have completely slacked on my social media!

My Mom also gave me a nudge and said I’ve been too quiet… so here’s a massive catch up on what I’ve been up to at work in the past couple of weeks - Mom’s orders! (I’m 27 end of this month) 😆

I can’t quite believe it!

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of overnight sitting the gorgeous Susie for a week 🐱

Susie is an absolute sweetheart!
She adores fuss & cuddles and was so loving the entire time.

I was with Susie every evening, overnight and morning to feed her breakfast & dinner and ensure she had company throughout the night.

She is an indoor / outdoor cat, however her Mom likes her to be in for 10pm so I also ensured she was in for her curfew! 😆

She truly is such a sweet girl and I really enjoyed spending time with her 🐱🤎

🐾 6 MONTHS OF COLLAR & CLAW 🐾

I can’t quite believe it’s been 6 whole months since I took the leap and left my full time office job to start Collar & Claw 🥹

These past 6 months have been a dream to me.
Ever since I was a little girl I have loved animals and have dreamt of a career working with them.

Every day I am thankful I decided to take the leap and pursue a career in an area I am truly passionate about 🫶🏼

More importantly, Collar & Claw would not be what it is today without every single client who continually puts their trust in me with their dogs, cats and everything in between.

Taking a chance on a new business can be scary and really I am still in the baby stages of my business!
However, my clients have trusted me to provide love and care for their fur babies despite this and without that I wouldn’t be able to make this post.

To every client who has booked me for walking, drop ins, ad hoc, pet sitting, wedding chaperone and more… THANK YOU!

It’s crazy to think only 6 months ago I started and only had a couple of dogs a couple of days a week and I was panicking about whether it would ever ‘take off’ for me.
Now I have regulars every day of the week, lots of ad hoc drop ins and walks and I’ve been fully booked for pet sits for the entirety of the summer holidays!

THANK YOU for turning my dream into a reality.

I am terrible at giving myself credit, or congratulating myself on much. However, I am very proud of what I have built and I can confidently say I love my job and mean every word.

But none of this would be possible without my clients.
I am incredibly grateful for each and every person who places their trust in me and continues to choose me.

I cannot wait to see what the next 6 months brings and all the months after that!

Thank you Maria for such a lovely review.

Maria & her husband Dan had some negative experiences in the past. When Maria first approached me, she was very nervous to trust someone again.
Having 3 male dachshunds myself and lots of dachshund clients, I spoke with Maria in depth about how I felt I could help and my personal experience with my own.

I am so blessed that they took a chance on me as a new business owner to see whether I could work with the boys and gain not just the boys trust, but theirs also 🫶🏼

Bobby, Paisley & Steven are so well behaved.
We built it up slowly, with walking them individually, then in pairs and then all together over a number of weeks.
I am now able to walk the 3 of them together and they walk like a dream!
When I come to sit them, we have plenty of cuddles & kisses.
I truly love those boys like they are my own.

Myself, Maria & Dan have built a really strong relationship based on trust and honesty.
Whilst they are very thankful for me (which means the world!), I am also very thankful to have such wonderful clients and to have built such a great relationship with them both.

Thank you Maria for taking a leap of faith with me, it means the absolute world and I am forever grateful to have the boys as part of the Collar & Claw pack 🤎🐾

Last week I had the absolute pleasure of dropping in for this gorgeous boy whilst his parents were on holiday 🐱

Introducing Ozzy ✨

Ozzy is an absolute sweetheart, every single morning and evening I saw him he came over to me purring away.
He liked making biscuits on my clothes and was always wanting lots of fuss.

Our drop ins consisted of feeding, litter changes, water changes and of course lots of cuddles! 🫶🏼

The most important part of my visits with Ozzy was administering his inhaler, as he suffers from feline asthma.
Every morning & evening he was given an inhaler and during my visits he did have one small asthma attack which meant I had to administer his other inhaler.

His parents were incredibly thorough with letting me know which inhaler is which, when to administer it and providing all necessary details I could have needed.

To have been trusted to look after Ozzy and give him his medication is an honour to me. Knowing your beloved pet has a medical condition which needs to be treated whilst you’re away can be scary, so to be trusted to manage this in your absence truly means the world to me.
Thank you to Ozzy’s parents for their trust 🫶🏼

I really hope to see Ozzy again in future 🤎🐾

I have the pleasure of walking Tanii every week to help out whilst her family are at work.

Tanii is such a gorgeous girl, such a great walker and loves a ball being thrown! 😆
Her recall is amazing & she’s a lovely companion to walk.

I have enjoyed every minute I have spent with Tanii so far and can’t wait for all the adventures to come.

She is such a special girl and I am incredibly thankful that her family have trusted me with looking after her 🤎🐾

From Aunty Lexy's Pet Care -

“There is at least 8 dogs in worcester that have reportedly unfortunately died from Parvo Virus.

Kempsey and Brickfields park have been suggested as origins but currently this could be more widespread than that. More details are still emerging.

According to some reports, this strain may have also affected some dogs that already have had their Parvo injections”

⚠️ PARVOVIRUS ALERT

Good afternoon everyone,

Unfortunately, we have some difficult news to share. We have had a confirmed case of canine parvovirus Worcester.

Parvovirus is a highly contagious and potentially life-threatening virus, particularly in puppies and dogs who are not fully vaccinated. Sadly, despite our team providing intensive treatment and nursing care, the dog affected in this case has unfortunately passed away. 💔

We want to make sure everyone is aware so that we can help reduce the risk of further cases.

Please check your dog's vaccination status. If your dog hasn't had their vaccinations or booster within the last 12 months, please contact The Worcester Vet Group to arrange an appointment and make sure they are protected.

If your dog develops symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea (especially bloody diarrhoea), lethargy or loss of appetite, please contact us before bringing them into the practice. This allows us to take precautions and helps protect other patients.
