Keeping cool
There are numerous posts about not walking your dog which I totally agree with in the heat so I thought I’d share how I keep my dogs cool
Cool coats my preferred choice are AniMate as they stay active for a long time and have proper straps to keep them in place . My dogs are lovely and cool on walks and when travelling
Keeping the car cool .
If you go to shows you will see rows of cars covered in silver sheets these are aluminet sheets . Mine is from Be Cool I bought it many years ago and it keeps my car really cool
Windows
I no longer tint my own car windows but I found some brilliant pre cut polycarbonate panels from Solarplexus that are so easily fitted . These can be removed in winter if you don’t want the tint
Water
My dogs have water bowl brackets from Monty Bracket and non spill dog bowls from IDOGCHEW perfect if you have a dog who chews bowls
For carrying water on me I use the H2O4K9 water bottle with neoprene sling .
Hydration
If we are travelling further or it’s really hot I use Better Hydration from Better Dog
These are just my personal preference I’m not affiliated to any of them .
Non of this gives an excuse to go out in hot weather with a ball launcher though 🙄

EDUCATIONAL VIDEO
If you do not have recall please keep your dog on a longline while you work on it . I have removed the sound from this video as I’m not here to shame but educate. This dog will get into trouble. The lady did not like me taking hold of her dog and removing it from the situation. The dog came back twice . I removed it each time . She said it’s recall works ‘sometimes’

🐾What if this was a horse and rider ?
🐾 What if he runs across a road ?
🐾What if he runs off ?
🐾 What if he meets a really reactive dog ?
🐾 Does he leave the cattle on the common alone ?

Although Chester kept jumping round he coped well. He wouldn’t have done that a few months back it would have been a far worse situation BUT all the work that we have put into helping him should not be ruined by other dogs . Paul had a yellow jacket on with ‘do not approach’ and Chester has ‘anxious dog ‘ so it can’t be much clearer.
