Since announcing my move I have had a number of clients simply not turn up for their grooming appointments, without any message or attempt to contact me. What makes it even harder is when I then try to call or message to check that everything is okay, only to have those calls and messages completely ignored.
Please remember that there is a real person behind this little business. ❤️ I’m not a faceless company or a big business with staff to fall back on. It’s just me. I’m the person answering your messages, booking your appointments, grooming your dogs and setting that time aside especially for you.
I completely understand that things happen. Dogs get poorly, emergencies happen, life gets busy and plans change — I really do understand. I’m not expecting perfection. I’m simply asking for communication and a little respect.
When you don’t turn up, I lose that appointment and the income that comes with it. I can’t offer that slot to somebody else, and when the cancellation fee is then ignored too, I’m left with absolutely nothing for the time I’ve kept aside.
I’m always friendly, chatty and understanding with my clients, and I genuinely care about the people and dogs who come through my door. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect the same basic consideration in return.
If you can’t make your appointment, please just tell me. Even if it’s last minute. Even if you’re embarrassed. Even if you know you’ve missed the cancellation deadline. I would much rather receive an honest message than spend my time calling and texting someone who simply chooses to not respond.
I don’t want a few people’s behaviour to change the friendly relationship I have with the majority of my lovely clients. So please — treat me like a human being, communicate with me, and respect my time in the same way that I respect yours. 🐾
To all of my wonderful clients who always give me notice, pay their fees and treat me with kindness and respect — thank you. And thank you to everyone who has decided to stay with me right up until my move, you genuinely mean the world to me. 🥰❤️
