Just a quick educational post from someone who’s been in this industry since 2021 — this is not brand bashing in any way.
We’ve been asked a few times why we don’t stock certain brands, so I wanted to explain our thinking clearly.
1. Northern Raw Feeds (NRF)
Out of their entire range, only four products are complete. The rest contain no offal. Offal (liver, kidney, etc.) is essential for a dog’s development and long-term health — it acts as nature’s multivitamin, delivering high levels of Vitamin A, B12, iron, copper, zinc and complete amino acids that muscle meat alone doesn’t provide. While dogs may love the fruit and veg options, without proper offal we simply can’t recommend or stock the range.
2. Drool (blocks & freeflow)
There’s nothing wrong with the food itself, but it’s a rebrand of Durham Animal Feeds — a brand we already stock. We don’t see the point in filling four freezers with the same product under a different label.
We never bring a brand in just because it will sell or because it’s the flavour of the month. We do our due diligence and only stock products we believe give dogs everything they need to thrive.
