🌪️ WE HAVE SURVIVED THE STORM! 🌪️😂

Against all odds, we have made it through another day of being battered by the British weather. Nobody has blown away, no dogs have taken flight and I've somehow managed to keep what little sanity I had left. A successful day all round. 🤣🐾

Anyway, I'm now swapping being blown around a field for going out for tea, followed by a very busy weekend of hockey! 🏒❤️

So if you've messaged me, I promise I'm not ignoring you! I'll get back to everyone as soon as I possibly can.

HOWEVER... 🍹

If you receive a reply from me later tonight, there's a very real possibility I've had a few drinks, so please disregard anything that sounds remotely unprofessional, makes absolutely no sense or involves me agreeing to something ridiculous.

Sober Jo will deal with the consequences tomorrow. That's her problem. 💀😂

🐾 A LITTLE REMINDER OF WHAT'S COMING UP OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS! 🐾

We've got a busy few weeks ahead, so here's a little reminder of what's going on before I abandon you all and disappear off to America. 😂✈️🇺🇸

🦷 MONDAY 26TH OCTOBER – MORNING WALK ONLY

I'll only be doing a morning walk on Monday as I've got a dentist appointment in the afternoon. Unfortunately, this is one appointment I absolutely cannot rearrange, so the dogs will have to make do with half a day of my delightful company. 😂

🎟️ FOOD BANK RAFFLE – CURRENTLY AT £360!

Our raffle is still going, and we've now raised an amazing £360! ❤️

We've currently got 7 × £50 Jo & Co vouchers and 7 dog/human hampers up for grabs!

If we can sell just another £40 worth of tickets, I'll increase that to 8 vouchers AND 8 hampers!

And don't forget, I'll be MATCHING EVERY PENNY RAISED, meaning if we hit £400, that's a whopping £800 going to the food bank! 🥹❤️

Tickets are just £2 each, and the raffle closes on 31st October!

🎃 SATURDAY 31ST OCTOBER – HALLOWEEN FUN DAY!

Our Halloween Fun Day is just around the corner!

It's £30 per dog for a full day of fun, every dog will go home with a little treat bag, and fancy dress is very much encouraged!

There will also be THREE prizes for the best-dressed dogs! 🏆

So if you're off doing Halloween activities with the kids, why not send the dog off for their own day of chaos?

🎆 THURSDAY 5TH NOVEMBER – BONFIRE NIGHT!

Don't forget to get your dogs booked in for walks on Bonfire Night!

The idea is to get them nice and tired out before the entirety of Wigan decides to recreate World War Three in their back gardens. 💥😂

Obviously, we can't stop the fireworks, but hopefully a good day of running around will help them settle a little easier that evening!

✈️🇺🇸 13TH–23RD NOVEMBER – HOLIDAY TIME!

And finally, the most important dates of all (well, to me anyway 😂).

I'll be off on my holidays to America from 13th to 23rd November, with my last working day being Thursday 12th and I'll be back to work on Tuesday 24th November!

If you need cover while I'm away, please make sure we've got everything sorted beforehand.

I'll be switching off from work, enjoying my holiday and probably spending a ridiculous amount of money on things I absolutely do not need. 😂

Apparently the weather has decided to be an absolute ar****le tomorrow. 😂

We've got a yellow weather warning for wind, heavy rain and gusts of up to 46mph. Lovely. Just what you want when you work outdoors for a living. 🙃

I AM STILL WORKING AS NORMAL! 🐾

Personally, I don't mind the rain, and neither do most of the dogs. We'll probably still be running around like lunatics getting absolutely filthy. 😂

HOWEVER, I completely understand if you'd rather your dog stayed home, warm and dry, questioning why the rest of us are voluntarily going outside in this weather. 🤣

If you'd prefer to cancel tomorrow's walk, that's absolutely fine! ❤️

Just let me know as soon as possible so I can adjust the rota.

🚲🐶 JO & CO PET CARE IS GOING GREEN… APPARENTLY. 🐶🚲

Well, ladies and gentlemen, it appears our wonderful government has once again come up with an absolutely groundbreaking solution to the rising cost of fuel.

Rather than doing something completely outrageous like reducing fuel duty or capping taxes, they've apparently decided that white van drivers should simply consider swapping their vans for cargo bikes.

FU***NG GENIUS. 👏👏👏

Why didn't I think of that?!

So, after careful consideration (approximately 4 seconds), I've decided to fully embrace this revolutionary transport solution.

🚐 Mercy is FOR SALE.
🚐 Olga is also FOR SALE.

Although, thinking about it, they were very specific about WHITE vans, and Olga isn't white… so perhaps she can stay. Wouldn't want to accidentally go against government advice. 🙄

From Monday, all Jo & Co dogs will be transported via one cargo bike.

🐶 Leela will be sitting on my knee, obviously. She's management.

🐶 Daisy will be in the front basket questioning every single life decision that's led her to this moment.

🐶 The remaining dogs will be distributed between various baskets, compartments and any available surface area.

🐶 Larger dogs will be expected to contribute by pedalling.

🐶 Any dogs who don't fit will be issued a high-vis jacket and asked to run alongside.

Please allow an additional 3–5 working days for collections, particularly if you live uphill.

On the plus side, I won't have to worry about MOTs, engine management lights, broken indicators, flat tyres or garages taking my entire life savings.

Instead, I'll just need the thighs of an Olympic cyclist, the cardiovascular fitness of Mo Farah and a small miracle to get 15 dogs up a hill in Wigan.

And when it's absolutely pi***ng it down in November, I'll just remind myself how lucky I am to live in a country where the people making transport recommendations probably haven't had to worry about the price of filling a work van in their lives.

Cost of living crisis? SOLVED. ✅

Fuel crisis? SOLVED. ✅

My mental stability? LONG GONE. ✅

Thank you, government. Another outstanding contribution to the lives of working people.

Anyway, if anyone sees me cycling through Aspull with 15 dogs, Leela screaming at pedestrians and Daisy filing for emancipation, please don't beep.

I'll already be having a fu***ng breakdown. 🚲💀

Just a heads up that on Monday 26th, I’ll only be doing a morning walk.

I have a dentist appointment in the afternoon for myself which I absolutely cannot cancel or rearrange, so unfortunately there won’t be an afternoon walk that day.

I’ll make sure everyone booked in is sorted into the morning walk instead 🐶❤️

Apparently at some point I have to prioritise my own teeth as well as everyone else’s dogs 😂🦷
