We’ve been away for bank holiday weekend at BK9 The Gathering Hoopers show.

Morse was too tired for photos after class so mum kindly sent one in from home

We have limited spaces available in
Tuesday 8pm Puppy class starting next week September 1st.

The next puppy class is then Monday October 12th 7pm.

Having support and getting it right from the beginning is so important.

Fixing things later on once habits have developed takes much longer and can be much harder.

All of the orginal competing team are now K2 and above .
Milo spaniel had some challenges sniffing and disengaging with his hoopers in competitions last year .
Sheena has worked really hard and trusted the process (most of it hasn’t involved work with hoopers equipment )
It’s resulted in 4 runs of staying engaged the whole course ( 3 of them clears and one with just two missed obstacles ) 🎉🐾

Chilli is nearing the end of our puppy class (my daughter Evie takes him ) . They have one more class left . He hasn’t been taught a verbal cue for sit , leave , down or heel .
But he can
🐾focus and pay attention when required
🐾 choose a sit instead of jumping (most of the time ) even when excited and running it seems
🐾 He can recall off running with another dog ( the first time we’ve done this today )

Remember our website is live and our Judges course design webinar is available on there. It particularly looks at setting appropriate beginners level course .

🐾 Just swapping two obstacles around can make a huge difference in difficulty.

🐾 If the aim is to encourage beginners to try their distance handling skills in the ring seemingly “easy” courses can do just the opposite unless they have a large very driven dog.

More puppy adventures Muncaster castle , Gosforth Show .

Chilli is a confident pup who likes people and dogs and enjoys these experiences (we obviously keep an eye and help him out of situations if he communicates to us he’s had enough )
It’s about reading the puppy in front of us if he was more sensitive and shy we would make different decisions for him to help build his confidence.
If an environment is constantly overwhelming it can be too much if your stuck in that environment for a long time.
He’s gets the chance to say hello but also working on paying attention and learning to relax .
It’s important he can relax in busy environments as at dog shows when he’s bigger he’ll need to be able to rest adequately.
