February is neuter awareness month. Why is it important to neuter your dog?
Neutering prevents females from coming into season and attracting unwanted male attention, which can lead to pregnancy or false pregnancies. It prevents the risk of testicular cancer in males and uterus infections and cancers in females. Reduces urine marking and roaming in male dogs and cats, as well as decreases sexual impulses and aggressive behaviour, including dog bites.
When should your pet be neutered?
Consider spaying or neutering small dogs after they reach six months of age. For large breed dogs, wait until they are at least nine months if not a full year old. Consult with a veterinarian to determine when the best time to neuter or spay your specific dog should you elect to have your vet perform the procedure.

Hi everyone! We would like to welcome our two new vets to Weybridge Vet Centre. Annika and Yashen.
Annika, an experienced vet who has spent time in equine and canine sporting activities, is also a Chiropractor and Acupuncturist.
Yashen honed his craft in Welfare Clinics in South Africa and gained immense surgical experience at Emergency Veterinary Services in Essex.
We are so lucky to have them and they are looking forward to helping the patients in the community, live their best lives.
