When a baby refuses to be touched by a head collar, I like to take a step back and let their curiosity do the work.

My little trick is to hang the head collar on the fence and let them discover it in their own time. They’ll often sniff it, nudge it, and even play with it. The important thing is never to leave it unattended. I stay there supervising the whole time.

After a few minutes, I remove it and repeat the exercise over a couple of sessions. By the time I try putting it on again, it’s no longer a scary new object but something familiar and accepted.

Patience, trust, and letting them learn at their own pace can make all the difference. 🐴💕

Today, Leo had his first proper introduction to our yearling, Cassie, and it’s safe to say they were both very curious about each other!

One thing that’s really important to us is giving our youngsters the opportunity to see, experience, and discover as much as possible from a very young age. From meeting different animals to exploring new environments, every experience helps build their confidence, trust, and understanding of the world around them.

Cassie took it all in his stride today, proving once again that these early lessons are so valuable. 🌱✨
