Little showcase of some repairs we’ve been doing lately 🪡

We’re always happy to help get your rugs back to functioning rather than you sending them straight into the bin!

Everything is repaired by hand, with the focus being on functionality and getting more life out of your rug. It might not look brand new afterwards, but sometimes a repair is all it needs to keep your trusty rug going for plenty more use instead of having to buy a replacement!🙏🏼♻️

It’s not just the horses who deserve a little TLC…👀

We’ve been washing and reproofing these EquiDry coats, getting them fresh, clean and ready for the wetter weather we’ve started seeing again! 🌚☔️

We might be best known for getting your horse’s rugs clean, but we’re more than happy to look after the humans behind them too!🥰

This absolutely gorgeous Monarch/Crown printed rug is this week’s favourite, and after a good clean, it’s back to shining like it belongs!✨

We’ve included the muddy “before” pictures too, as we just had to show how you could barely see the striking pattern underneath!🙈

At Ride & Shine, we really do love a first!✨

A new one for us yesterday... instead of heading to a livery yard to collect horse attire, we found ourselves in the Cheshire countryside collecting a grand total of 80 calf coats!🐄

It was such a lovely experience meeting the owner, seeing the calves and, of course, meeting the resident dogs, which don't worry, we did get him out of the Ride & Shine Mobile before we left!😂

The jackets themselves were certainly ready for some TLC, covered in muck, straw, stains, mould and more than a little damp! They're now with us for a proper clean and refresh, ready to be put back to work on the farm next year🙌🏼

We absolutely love getting to take on something a little different, and this was definitely a collection to remember, so thank you for trusting us!🧼

A lovely day out for us yesterday at DEAN VALLEY EQUESTRIAN CENTRE 🐴

We were there supporting our lovely friends Kieran Taylor & Claire Peckham, it was great to see their young, upcoming horses doing so well👏🏼

We also had a lovely catch up with Herdspace while we were there, it’s always great to see and support other local businesses🙌🏼

Such a great opportunity for Ride & Shine to visit another new venue, meet more people within the equestrian community and get some leaflets out there too.

Thanks for inviting us along, and well done to everyone involved!🩵🐎

🐴 A little reminder from me at On Point Equine Transport 🚚

Something I’d really like more drivers to understand when sharing the road with a horsebox or trailer…

If you see me leaving a larger gap than usual to the vehicle in front, please don’t assume it’s an invitation to pull into it.

There’s a very good reason for that space.

When I’m carrying a horse, I’m not just driving a van. I’ve got a horse standing behind me, balancing on four legs while we accelerate, brake, corner, go around roundabouts and deal with everything else that happens on the road.

Unlike us, a horse can’t sit down, strap itself in and brace for a sudden stop.

That means I need to drive differently.

I leave plenty of room in front so I can brake early, smoothly and progressively, keeping the journey as comfortable and safe as possible for the horse.

🐴 Then someone pulls into that gap.

If they suddenly slow down or brake, I’m left with very little choice but to brake harder than I wanted to.

For a horse, that can be enough to make it lose its balance, stumble or fall against the partition or another horse.

And if I have a mare travelling with a young foal, there could be an even more vulnerable passenger on board. ❤️

So next time you’re behind or alongside a horsebox, please remember:

➡️ Give us plenty of space.
➡️ Don’t cut in front of us.
➡️ Leave our braking distance alone.
➡️ Give us room when we’re turning or negotiating roundabouts.
➡️ And please be patient if I’m travelling a little slower than you.

I appreciate that most people who pull into the gap aren’t trying to cause a problem. They simply don’t realise why we’re leaving that space.

So now you know. 😊

That gap isn’t there because I don’t know how to drive.

It’s there because I’m carrying something precious. 🐴❤️

Please share this and help spread a little awareness amongst other drivers.

Everyone loves a good before & after wash transformation, but it’s not all we take care of… it’s the little details too!😊

These Velcro strips were full of hair, straw and muck, but after a bit of patience (and a lot of hand picking!) they’re back to being clean and usable again. You don’t always realise how annoying clogged Velcro can be until it’s sorted, and suddenly it just sticks properly again and does its job like it should ✨

We’ve also included pics of a recent repair we carried out, because sometimes a little TLC is all something needs to keep going for longer!🪡

Everything is done carefully by hand using specialist tools, with no harsh chemical removers or anything that could damage your kit. It takes time, but we’d rather do it properly and look after your items like they’re our own 🩵

It’s been a little quiet on our socials recently, but for good reason!
We’ve been working hard behind the scenes thanks to all the amazing support and the big orders that have been coming through! 🫶🏼

This GIANT rug arrived absolutely caked in dried, crusty mud… but after a proper clean, the beautiful blue colours are finally showing again 🤩

There’s something so satisfying about seeing the progress first hand and watching each rug go from looking tired and worn to fresh, clean and ready for its next adventure! 🐴✨
