Trick or treat top tips 🍬🎃

People dressed in costumes and constant knocks at the door can be very confusing for dogs:

🎃Be careful when opening the door so your dog doesn’t accidentally escape

👻If your god is very anxious, consider a sign saying ‘nervous dog, please don’t knock’ and leave treats out for children to help themselves

🍬Keep human sweets and chocolate safely out of your dogs reach!

🍂Autumn Parasites 🍂

As the seasons change, so do the risks to your pet’s health. Cooler, wetter weather can bring out parasites like Harvey’s mites, fleas, ticks, and even lungworm in dogs.

🔸Harvey mites - tiny orange pets that cause itching and irritation, especially around paws and ears.
🔸Fleas - love warm homes and can wake from dormancy when the heating goes on.
🔸Ticks - found in grassy areas, they latch onto pets and feed on blood.
🔸Lungworm - spread by slugs and snails, this serious parasite can be fatal if untreated.

✅Regular flea, tick & worming treatments are your best defence.
💬If you’re unsure about your pest protection plan, speak to your vet.
Prevention is always better than a cure! 🐾

26th October- Clocks Go Back ⏰🥲

On Sunday 26th, the clocks go back one hour as British Summer Time ends. While this gives us an extra hour in bed, it can disrupt our pets’ routines.

Animals thrive on consistency, sudden changes can cause confusion or anxiety. To help ease the transition, consider gradually adjusting your pets routine over a few days leading up to the change. A little preparation can make a big difference in keeping your pets happy.

October is Black Cat Awareness Month! 🐈‍⬛

October is Black Cat Awareness Month- a time to celebrate these gorgeous felines. Despite their charm and beauty, black cats are sadly less likely to be adopted due to outdated myths and superstitions. This month is about changing perspectives and showing just how lovely black cats truly are.
