What a couple weeks it's been here at Barkside!

So as some of you know, in the middle of farm renovations, 5 little puppies were dumped 😭

We contacted the correct authorities, and went through the correct channels to make sure they weren't stolen or lost. Unfortunately nobody came to claim them 😩

But, being the true dog lovers we are, they came home! They had a bath, a vet check (no chips!), were wormed and given time to settle and come to terms with what they had gone through!

They've turned from puppies that couldn't be touched or caught, to puppies craving affection and attention ❤️

It will always be a memorable start to Barkside Lodge and updates will be given regarding the 'Barkside 5'

Were more than just a boarding kennels, we care 🫶

It’s a dream built by two people who found each other at exactly the right time.

We’re Meg and JD — best friends who have only known each other for just over a year, yet somehow it feels like a lifetime. From the moment we met, we became inseparable. We share the same passion, the same drive, and the same dream:
to create a place where dogs feel safe, loved, and truly at home. 🐶🏡

In just one year, we’ve gone from strangers… to best friends… to business partners building something we are so incredibly proud of.
Every step at Cherry Tree Farm — every cleared room, every cut of grass, every plan we make — is part of our story. A story built on trust, love for animals, and a friendship we never saw coming. 🐾✨

The vision 👀

When we sat and thought about starting Barkside Lodge, we had a vision in mind.

Between the 2 of us, we have 9 dogs! Its so hard when you go away... who's going to look after them? Are they going to be okay? Will they be loved? And we all know, nobody can look after their dogs like their owners!! Its just not the same! ❤️

Then it clicked! What if we can provide a holiday for dogs 🐶

This week we are going to share with you our plans, the things that we think will set us aside from other boarding kennels 🫶

We will start this afternoon! Kept your 👀 🍌

What a couple of weeks!! We had some delays, and currently have an electeic pole down 😫

The wrong carpets were fitted, then they came with the right carpet, in the wrong size 🫣

In the next couple of weeks, we will be making a start on your pooches cosy kennels! Stay tuned 😉

The weather is against us a bit at the moment! Its deffo making the job harder! Even the trusty old jeep struggled in the field today!

The grass is getting cut, the old spaces are being cleared, and we’re finally making room for something pawsome — Barkside Lodge 🐶💛It might just look like mowing and tidying right now, but to us, it’s the very beginning of our dream coming to life.
