🦷 A CLEAN SMILE DOESN’T ALWAYS MEAN A HEALTHY MOUTH 🐾

They has been some recent discussions about dental cleaning being carried out outside of veterinary care.

At BTC Pet Co, we take a very different approach.

Before any Emmi-Pet session, a full assessment of your dog’s teeth and gums is carried out. We want to make sure Emmi-Pet is appropriate for your dog and, importantly, identify when veterinary treatment may be needed instead.

🩺 Sometimes, a veterinary dental is the right first step.

A cosmetic improvement to the visible surface of a tooth does not necessarily mean the mouth is healthy. Dental disease can occur below the gumline and may not be obvious just by looking at the teeth.

As an RVN, I believe it is really important to recognise the difference between helping owners maintain good oral hygiene and attempting to treat dental disease outside of veterinary care.

Our priority is always your dog’s health, comfort and welfare. ❤️🐾

And remember — a cleaner-looking tooth isn’t necessarily a healthier mouth.

📩 Not sure whether your dog is suitable for Emmi-Pet?
Get in touch with BTC Pet Co and we can discuss their individual needs.

🐶🦷 FUN FACT! DID YOU KNOW? 🦷🐶

Did you know that adult dogs have 42 teeth! 😲

That’s 10 more teeth than humans, who usually have 32. 🦷

🐾 But here’s the important bit: those 42 teeth need looking after too! Plaque and tartar can build up, leading to gum disease, pain and tooth loss.

💗 Healthy teeth = a happier, healthier dog!

At BTC Pet Co, we offer Emmi-pet ultrasonic teeth-cleaning sessions to help support your dog’s dental hygiene routine.

Jessie & Pugba 🐾🤎

We visited Jessie and Pugba for a nail trim! 🐾

They were both a little nervous, so we took our time, kept things calm and positive, and made sure they were as comfortable as possible.

Both sets of nails were trimmed successfully, and of course, they each got a well-deserved treat at the end for being such good pups! 🥰🐶

Well done Jessie & Pugba! 🤎
