🌸🐾 **A Friendly Reminder for All Our Doggy Families** 🐾🌸

As the weather brightens and gardens come into bloom, it’s the perfect time for outdoor adventures with your pups. But many common garden flowers — and even some popular seasonal events — can pose hidden dangers to our furry friends.

🚫 **Flowers to watch out for:**
Some beautiful blooms are unfortunately toxic to dogs, including:

* Tulips & daffodils (especially the bulbs)
* Lilies
* Foxglove
* Bluebells
* Hydrangeas
* Azaleas & rhododendrons

Even a small nibble can cause symptoms like vomiting, drooling, lethargy, or worse — so it’s always better to be cautious.

🎉 **Seasonal events & risks:**
Spring and summer events like flower shows, Flower picking events, garden festivals, weddings, and even local markets often feature these plants in displays or bouquets. Dogs may be tempted to sniff or chew unfamiliar flowers in new environments, especially when they’re excited or curious.

🐶 **How to keep your dog safe:**

* Keep a close eye during walks in parks and gardens
* Avoid letting your dog chew on plants or flowers
* Be mindful at events where floral displays are within reach
* If you’re unsure about a plant, it’s best to steer clear

💛 If you ever think your dog has eaten something they shouldn’t, contact your vet right away — quick action can make all the difference.

Let’s keep tails wagging and adventures safe this season! 🌼🐕

⚠️Please Read- Life saving information⚠️
Please make children aware of the following!
If attacked by a dog do NOT
❌RUN
❌SCREAM
❌MAKE FAST MOVEMENTS
❌LAY DOWN
Make sure you
✅ STAND TALL
✅GET HIGH ON A STABLE OBJECT
✅PUT A BARRIER BETWEEN YOU AND THE DOG
✅ STAND STILL

❌Do NOT attempt to pull the dog off the victim, the dog will bite harder and cause more damage as you can see in the video

✅The ONLY way to stop a dog when they have latched on (as seen in the video) is to choke the dog out with a lead/collar/belt/wire and to remove them from the situation

❌Hitting, punching, kicking, smacking a dog when they are attacking will only provoke it further and you are wasting valuable time!

✅If the dog can’t breathe - they can’t bite!
This is the only life saving solution in a critical situation. Dog attacks are fast and brutal, they will feel no pain whilst biting/attacking so do not waste time trying to hurt them!

❌If a dog latches on DO NOT PULL AWAY as this will cause tear damage!

✅Hold the dog’s scruff onto the bite we call this “feeding the bite” so they cannot shake and pull you to the ground.
✅Stabilise the bite by holding the dog by its neck - if you’re not the victim keep them still and calm to minimise tearing damage.

And do not, ever, in any circumstance, have a baby near any dog….
Prey drive means dogs can attack small wriggly things that squeal thinking they’re prey.
This is the hideous truth of most fatalities - prey drive! And prey drive can be at different levels in ALL breeds!
It’s awful to have to talk like this but something has to change to keep children and babies safe!
PREVENTION IS THE CURE

🐾 **Enriching Hounds**
*Elevated care for exceptional dogs*

At Enriching Hounds, dog walking is redefined as a bespoke, enrichment-led experience tailored to the individual needs of each dog. We specialise in thoughtful, structured care that prioritises emotional wellbeing, confidence, and behavioural development.

Our services are designed for owners who expect more than routine — and for dogs who deserve to be truly understood.

**Our offerings include:**
• **Private Solo Walks** – calm, one-to-one experiences for focus, decompression, and tailored enrichment
• **Walk & Train Sessions** – refined guidance to develop engagement, manners, and real-world reliability
• **Puppy Visits & Foundations** – intentional early development, building confidence and lifelong skills
• **Structured Group Walks** – carefully curated social environments that encourage balance and appropriate interaction
• **Specialist Reactive Dog Support** – discreet, compassionate handling for dogs requiring a more considered approach

We work with the dog in front of us — not a one-size-fits-all model. Every interaction is purposeful, every walk has value.

Because exceptional dogs deserve exceptional care.

A little ahead of schedule but .....

🌟 **Star of the Week: Miss Lexi** 🌟

This week’s prestigious *Star of the Week* award goes to none other than **Miss Lexi**!

After previously holding the unofficial title of *Chief Stick Collector and Occasional Selective Listener*, Lexi has clearly decided it was time for a career change. This week she has been **walking beautifully on the lead, actually listening, and even socialising nicely with the other dogs**.

Most impressively, Lexi has shown remarkable self-control by **leaving those very tempting, very crunchy sticks alone**. We’re not entirely sure who she is and what she’s done with the old Lexi, but we’re extremely proud of her progress!

She’s been a joy on her walks, playing nicely with her furry friends and proving that good behaviour *can* coexist with a love of adventure.

Well done, Lexi – keep it up and the sticks might just stay safe for another week! 🐾

⭐ Doggy Star of the Week: Bella ⭐

This week’s shining star is Bella! She has worked so hard to conquer her fears and has shown incredible progress. Bella has stayed calm when faced with her usual triggers, showing a new level of confidence and courage. Watching her grow, trust, and take each challenge in stride has been such a joy.

I couldn’t be prouder of this brave girl — well done, Bella! 🌟🐾
