🕷️💚 From absolutely terrified to completely obsessed!
I thought I'd share something a little different with you all today… my own jumping spider story!
For those of you who don't know me, I'm Leanne, the Social Media & Community Manager here at Opus Vita. 💚
Now, here's something you might find surprising… I've spent pretty much my entire life being absolutely PETRIFIED of spiders! And I don't just mean a little scared. I couldn't even look at a picture of one without freaking out! 😂
Laura, the founder of Opus Vita, has been my best friend since we were at college together, so we've known each other for a VERY long time!
When she first told me she was running a business breeding and selling jumping spiders, I genuinely thought she'd lost the plot! 😂 I mean, who in their right mind would want a spider as a pet?!
Well… turns out, me! 🤣
Laura was the one who first introduced me to these little creatures, and I'll admit, I wasn't exactly convinced at first!
But then along came Kiva… 🥹💚
This photo was taken the very first time I EVER held a spider. Something I honestly never thought I'd be brave enough to do!
I was nervous, but there was just something about this tiny little spider sitting on my hand that completely changed everything.
And from that moment on… I was hooked! 🕷️❤️
Fast forward to today, and not only do I now work for the very spider business I once thought my best friend was mad for starting, but I spend my days looking at spider photos, editing spider videos, talking about spiders and sharing all things spood-related with you lovely lot! 😂
And the funniest part?
The first thing I do when I walk into the Opus Vita office isn't make a cuppa or sit down at my desk… it's go around and say hello to all our spiders! 🥹💚
If you'd told me a few years ago that I'd be doing this, I'd have laughed in your face!
But here I am, completely obsessed with these incredible little creatures, and I wouldn't change a thing.
All it took was one tiny jumping spider called Kiva, a best friend who clearly knew better than I did, and a little bit of courage to completely change the way I saw spiders 💚
