I wanted to do a shout out to my amazing friend Cosmic Hamsters for everything she has done and is still doing for the hamster community. We joined the community in April 2018 and has been promoting proper hamster care ever since. While she is taking a break from owning hamsters she is still doing amazing work to help spread awareness. These are a few of her more recent projects. She is a wonderful person with a heart of gold. Thank you for all you have done and still do for these wonderful creatures, you are a wonderful person. ❤️
She has Cosmichamsters.com started with a love of hamsters and a feeling that there needed to be another place for people to find good hamster care information.
There is unfortunately a lot of misinformation about hamster care in books, pet shops and online, and she wanted to create a resource where people could find safe, humane and up to date information to help them understand the different aspects of caring for a hamster.
The website has grown into a hamster hub, with care guides which cover: enclosures (including inspiration photos and videos), bedding, wheels, food & water and enrichment. It also has pages sharing other hamster resources, rescues and vets, as well as The Hamster Nebula blog.
The blog is where she shares a mixture of helpful and educational care information, things she's learned through experience and research. This includes DIY ideas, seasonal projects, safe hamster businesses and updates from the hamster world. She also shares videos and a hamster podcast, 'Hamster Bites', over on her YouTube channel, also called Cosmic Hamsters.
A huge amount of work goes on
behind the scenes at Cosmic Hamsters, and everything she shares comes from a place of care, research, real experience and love. She also lives with a chronic illness, which means that sometimes the work has to come to a complete standstill. When she has the energy, she comes back to it and carries on building, writing and creating, because she really believes hamsters deserve to thrive, not just survive.
And she’s not finished yet, so watch this space! 🐹💜🚀
