Feeling blessed this week for the lovely owners who trust me to care for their dogs.

Having a dog, myself, I understand how important this is, and that's why I put everything in to ensuring my home is run with kindness and safety at its heart. Every dog has the right to feel settled, protected, and happy and that's what I always strive to do when they stay with me.

🌡️🐾 Basil’s Cool Paws Campaign - Please Support Our Petition

Every summer, dogs in Tewkesbury are at risk of painful paw burns and heatstroke simply because many owners don’t realise how hot pavements can get - even on warm, cloudy days.

I’ve launched a petition asking Tewkesbury Borough Council to install dog heat‑safety signs on pavements, car parks, popular walking routes, shops and parks. These simple, low‑cost signs could make a huge difference in raising awareness and preventing avoidable harm.

Sadly, the message is still not getting through to some people...

Today I saw a couple in town walking their dogs. It was 32 degrees. I put my hand on the pavement and couldn't hold it there for more than 3 seconds because it was so hot.

The dogs were wearing cooling vests. Great. But what about their paws? The pavement would have been a MINIMUM of 38 degrees. Their paws will have burnt. It is so cruel and absolutely heartbreaking to witness.

Please please please - in this excessive heat, either walk your dog really early or just don't walk them atall 🙏
