🐾 WHAT YOUR DOG’S PAW PADS CAN TELL YOU! 🐶❤️
Did you know your dog’s paw pads can give you little clues about their health, activity levels and overall wellbeing? 🐾

🐾 🐶 Rough or cracked paw pads These can be caused by dry weather, hot pavements, rough surfaces or excessive wear. Deep cracks, bleeding or persistent discomfort should be checked by your vet.
🐾 🐾 Smooth or soft paw pads These can be completely normal, especially in dogs who walk mainly on softer surfaces or spend lots of time indoors. They may simply be less accustomed to rough terrain.
🐾 🎨 Different colours Pink, black, brown or a mixture of colours can all be perfectly normal! Paw pad pigmentation is often determined by genetics and can change as puppies grow.
🐾 🩹 Red, swollen or sore pads These could indicate irritation, allergies, burns, an injury or infection. If your dog is licking their paws excessively, limping or showing signs of pain, it’s worth getting them checked.
🐾 ❄️ Changes in texture Thickened, unusually hard or crusty paw pads can sometimes indicate an underlying condition, particularly if the change is sudden or affects several paws.
🐾 🐕 The importance of paw checks Your dog’s paws work hard every single day! Regularly checking between their toes, around their nails and across their pads can help you spot problems early.
