At Our Dogs Can, weā€™re passionate about helping dogs reach their full potential through fun, reward-based training methods. Our approach focuses on building confidence and encouraging positive behaviours, creating a joyful learning experience for both dogs and their owners. Opening in 2024, we offer small group training classes in an indoor/outdoor facility. Our classes include: Puppy Classes, Junior Classes and Manners Classes (Levels 1-6). ā€œGood choice!ā€

Something I probably say to my teenage dog 30 times a day.

Why? Because weā€™re really good at spotting the things our dogs get wrong, but how often do we notice the little things they get right?

ā€¢ Checking in with you on a walk.
ā€¢ Choosing you over running up to greet someone.
ā€¢ Recovering a little quicker after something exciting.

These are all opportunities to say ā€œgood choice!ā€

By acknowledging the behaviours we do want to see, we help our dogs understand what pays off and encourage them to make those choices again.

And just as importantly, it reminds us to notice the positives instead of constantly focusing on what needs to change.

Puppyhood and adolescence can be tough. Weā€™re teaching a young dog (a completely different species!) how to navigate our world. Thereā€™s a lot to learn, for both ends of the lead.

So hereā€™s your challenge: say ā€œgood choiceā€ a little more often.

Celebrate the little wins. Your dog is probably getting more right than you realise.

Weā€™re so lucky to have such an amazing training centre, with both indoor and outdoor space!

Perfect for making the most of the ever-unpredictable British weather, while giving our dogs the opportunity to practise their skills around a range of appropriate distractions.

It also means that, from time to time, we get visits from our hoofed neighbours! šŸ„

We donā€™t mind if your dog gets distracted, needs a little extra help or takes a bit longer to learn something. We donā€™t expect you to do everything perfectly, either!

What do we care about?
ā€¢ Helping you understand your dog.
ā€¢ Giving you the confidence to navigate life together.
ā€¢ Progress over perfection.
ā€¢ Making training fun for both ends of the lead!

You donā€™t need a perfect dog to come and train with us. You just need to be willing to learn together.

The Junior Students are doing so incredibly well in nailing all those skills. Weā€™ve had lovely lead walking, fabulous engagement, calm settling and impulse control and rapid recalls, even with distractions to tempt them!

Puppy & Junior Dog Training Classes in Purton, Swindon

Got a new puppy or a young dog who could use a little guidance?

Our Puppy School and Junior courses are designed to help you build the skills you need for everyday life, while strengthening the relationship you have with your dog.

We cover practical skills including:
ā€¢ Recall
ā€¢ Loose lead walking
ā€¢ Focus and impulse control
ā€¢ Settling around people and other dogs
ā€¢ Confidence and socialisation
ā€¢ Handling and cooperative care
ā€¢ Understanding how dogs learn
ā€¦and lots more!

Puppy School is for puppies up to 20 weeks old, while Junior is for dogs over 5 months, including older puppies and newly adopted dogs.

Small, supportive classes with plenty of individual help and lots of fun along the way.
