The link with the company name is obvious as dogs are ‘man’s best friend,’ but there is a deeper reason as to why I believe in it and you can benefit from it. Many times in my life I have felt alone, like when my entire class in Primary School would make fun of me and when I was bullied. I’m sure there are times when you have felt alone too. The time when I felt most alone, however, was when I was
18 and my family left to move to Canada. I choose to stay because I wanted to go to university but it still left me feeling very alone. However, it was at this point in my life I discovered an important lesson. I am not on my own! In fact looking back now, I can see that I never was actually alone! In Primary school, I had a best friend who was also mocked by the class. When I had just turned 16 I became a Christian and learnt that with Jesus I am never alone, even if my family leave me. The churches I have been a member of and the Christian Union at University have treated me like family and helped me out in so many ways. Since starting the company, I’ve found running a business can get lonely sometimes. You aren’t following the crowd and it’s a lot tougher not knowing if your paycheck is coming at the end of the month. Recently, I’ve discovered the power of networking (people networking, already knew about computer networking!) and a vibrant community of business owners all willing to socialise, chat and help if there is a problem. It’s great to be able to refer them to other people too because I can show them that they are not alone either. Oh, and why IT? Well, I like technology, I was always fascinated by how my friends at uni could fix computer and I like to learn (and teach others!). I have gained 5 years experience working in IT networking and helping friends and family, which means I have seen a multitude of problems with computers and networks. This puts me in a great position to be able to diagnose and resolve your computer problem quickly and efficiently. I have also gained the CompTIA A+ and Network+ industry certifications to make sure my skills are up to date and I follow best practices. My desire is to take all my skills and experience and run a business that helps you out, so you don’t have to feel like you are on your own when your computer fails you. That’s why I want to be “Your Best Friend in IT.”
