There is nothing nicer than starting a day with a visit from a beautiful kitten 💚
Having your new little one visit the vet is one of the most important things you can do
At these kitten (and puppy) appointments we check for overall health, including a full top to tail examination 🐾
We can pick up any issues little ones may have been born with, check they are a healthy weight, answer any questions you may have, give advice re diet, parasite control, vaccinations - all the things your little one needs for the best start in life

Plus we get to meet them and have baby cuddles 🥰
Please get in touch with our lovely team if you have a new little family member that needs a visit

🌡️🐾 Hot Weather Warning for Pet Owners 🐾🌡️

As temperatures rise, it's important to remember that our pets can struggle in the heat just like we do.

🐶 Dogs and 🐱 cats can quickly overheat, especially during walks or when left in warm rooms, conservatories, or vehicles.

🐰 Rabbits and 🐹 guinea pigs are particularly vulnerable to heat stress. They cannot sweat and can become seriously ill when temperatures climb above 25°C. Hutches and runs can heat up rapidly, even in shaded areas.

Help keep your pets safe by:
✅ Providing plenty of fresh, cool water
✅ Ensuring access to shade throughout the day
✅ Bringing rabbits and guinea pigs indoors or into a cool, well-ventilated area during extreme heat
✅ Using cooling mats, frozen water bottles wrapped in towels, or damp towels nearby for small pets
✅ Avoiding exercise during the hottest parts of the day
✅ Never leaving pets in parked vehicles

⚠️ Signs of heatstroke can include rapid breathing, lethargy, drooling, weakness, and collapse. If you suspect heatstroke, move your pet to a cool area and contact a vet immediately.

A little extra care during hot weather can make a big difference. Please share to help keep pets safe this summer. ❤️🐾

It’s Day 2 of Rabbit Awareness Week and this year it is the 20th anniversary campaign: Feeding Bunnies Better! 🎉🐰
Rabbits need plenty of space to hop, stretch, explore and forage naturally. A cramped setup limits movement, impacting their health, wellbeing and make it harder to encourage natural feeding behaviours like grazing on hay throughout the day.
Create a rabbit-friendly space with room to scatter feed, forage and room to roam, because happy homes help create healthy appetites 🐾

The RVC have excellent information packs to help keep our rabbit friends happy and healthy ❤️

Good evening all❤️❤️
I would like to introduce you to this gorgeous eight week old Rottweiler called Bella🥰🥰.
Bella has come to us today to see our vet because Bella has been suffering with some loose stools and off food for the past few days.🥰🥰
When this happens it’s is best to give your furry companion on a bland diet for 3-4 days to settle the stomach ☺️.
You can also buy over the counter at the vet some DNA digest syringe with settling down the stomach and bring the stools back to normal.🥰🥰
Get better soon Bella🙏🙏🙏🙏

🦔🐦 Helping Wildlife This Summer ☀️

The warmer months can be challenging for our local wildlife. Small actions can make a big difference!

Here are some simple ways you can help:

💧 Leave out shallow dishes of fresh water for birds, hedgehogs, and other wildlife.
🌿 Create a wildlife-friendly garden with native plants and wild areas.
🐝 Avoid using pesticides where possible.
🦔 Check long grass before mowing and look carefully before strimming.
🗑️ Secure netting and dispose of litter responsibly to prevent animals becoming trapped.

If you come across a wild animal that appears injured, sick, or orphaned, please contact a wildlife rescue organisation or veterinary practice for advice before intervening.

Together, we can help our local wildlife stay safe and healthy this summer. ❤️

Have you spotted any wildlife in your garden recently? Share your photos below! 📸
