I don’t think anyone really prepares you for your dog getting old, for things happening that you can’t fix, when you feel like they have been in your life forever but time seems to be going so fast. Walter will be 9 in September and to me that’s not old, I know people with dogs who are late teens and I know I’ll never have that with Walter 😞 I remember the day we rescued him and I wish more than anything I could go back and do it all again! He can’t walk too well now, he’s having accidents in the house every day, we can’t play with him like we used to and it’s so hard 😞 I’ve had to give most of his toys away because in his mind he’s still that crazy puppy and wants to tug and chase but his legs are going and we have to be so careful of his back. IVDD sucks and I know it’s going to get worse, he’s so much more to me than a dog, he’s my baby 😞 today’s just been a tough day 😞
