WORMING TABLETS? NO THANK YOU!
I don’t believe in giving dogs unnecessary chemicals. I take a natural approach with everything for Baloo. This might be controversial, but we don’t do vaccinations, flea treatments or worming tablets.
You wouldn’t take antibiotics every day to prevent yourself getting an infection like you wouldn’t wash your hair with lice treatment every day to prevent lice, so why give a treatment to prevent worms? It never made sense to me.
Every other day, I give Baloo freshly ground pumpkin seeds alongside his other supplements, and every 8 weeks we do a worm count with Feclab.
The only time Baloo ever had worms was when he was a puppy. He was a scavenger and would eat absolutely anything, including poo! After using grapefruit seed extract for 14 days, his results came back clear. Ever since then, almost 3 years later, every worm count result has come back clear too.
If you’d like to give it a go, buy a bag of organic pumpkin seeds, grind them into a fine powder using a food processor, and add them to your dog’s food.
½ teaspoon per 10kg of body weight, every other day.
There are also lots of benefits to feeding pumpkin seeds:
👉🏼 They contain Niacin, which supports cognitive function. Great for all dogs, but especially puppies and golden oldies. It can also support growth, digestion and help the body cope with stress.
👉🏼 They contain Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids, which support skin and coat health, help maintain healthy joints, and contribute to a healthy immune system.
👉🏼 They are packed with beneficial vitamins, including Vitamins B, E and K. These support energy levels, skin and coat health, normal blood clotting and overall wellbeing.
These are just a few of the benefits there are many more, and some may be particularly useful depending on your own dog’s individual needs.
This is what works for Baloo, and almost 3 years of clear worm counts speak for themselves.
