An update from us...
So far this year we have helped rehome thousands of animals and built something from nothing from the ground up. As previously mentioned... the Final goal is to run a community driven project in a Tropical Fish shop in the Stowmarket Area that encourages Youth and Special education needs students to come in on a voluntary basis for work experience and projects that educate our kids about our Wild Suffolk, freshwater and River ecology, conservation and tropical fish and how it all interlinks and why it's important to do so.
In a nutshell, I believe there's a way to make everybody interested in anything in the world if you deliver it in a way thats relative to the person you tell it too... Deliverance is key. Fishkeeping is a great tool to softly integrate our kids into learning a little responsibility in life without shoving it in there faces. I'd love to collaborate in the future with Schools, Educational trusts, charities and environmental organisations to open up a space where we can all operate a service together all with the same goal in mind.
Then there is the Love for our county that is heavily integrated into the development in this project. The idea is to Network a list of contacts of fishkeepers, Breeders and traders within Suffolk so in the future we can work together so that Everything is kept within the county to help contribute a boost to the local economy. I hope to run a business that wholly sources all it's stock from people in our county.
Right now, we have taken a step back for the last fortnight from incoming rehomes as we build in some new systems to allow for much larger stock to have suitable space for it's time with us. The instalation of these systems allows us to be able to safely keep larger species such as Arowana, iridescent sharks or Oscars to name a few that often get passed through to us due to there ability to grow much larger than what most people are capable of looking after. By the end of the week we will be open up our books for rehomes again and will be available alot more than recent. By the end of the year, you will be able to book and view at our new private fish room that is being built in the garden in the mean time. This will be our next step to moving toward the final goal.
So what's the point of this post ? The point here is just to give a little update on what is happening at Anglotropica and to give a massive thankyou to the supporting community behind us to continuously make this happen and grow the venture to new heights. I honestly couldn't be happier with the response I've had so far, the outcomes of some of the rehomes we've done and just the general direction of how things are going... and it's all because of the many people in the community who have already used this service and put trust in me to put there animals to a better place.
Here's a video of 3 large koi carp i rehomed a month ago from a pond to this beautiful private lake in the sunny countryside. Boasting a 10m deep pool and all the space they could ever ask need... these fish and the many others I've put here can flourish and live a full life.
