We spotted a familiar face at Trentham Gardens this Bank Holiday. 🐾

Staffy now has his own trail at Trentham Gardens.

From sculpture and print to animation and social content, it’s been brilliant to see him brought to life across a campaign that has attracted visitors to Staffordshire and generated around £180,000 for the local economy so far.

We take health and safety seriously.

Thankfully, our office is pretty low-risk beyond the odd paper cut, trip up the stairs and one of the great workplace hazards of our time:

Dropping your phone down the toilet. 📱🚽

So naturally, it got its own safety poster.

Because if a health and safety message makes you smile, there’s a better chance you’ll actually remember it.

It was brilliant to welcome The Challenger Academy’s Best Summer Job Ever cohort to our studio and give them a behind the scenes look at what we do.

The programme is giving local young people the chance to experience some amazing opportunities across the creative industries, and we were delighted to play a small part in their journey.

Our company director, Daniel Waterman, shared the story of Carse & Waterman, from Daniel and Gary starting out as two university students creating animation 17 years ago, to building the studio and team we know today.

It was great to talk honestly about how a creative business grows, the different opportunities within animation, and some of the lessons we’ve learned along the way.

We love supporting opportunities like this that give young people locally the chance to explore creative careers, meet people working in the industry, and see what might be possible for them in the future.

Thanks for popping by! 👋

Careers information can be incredibly valuable, but only if people actually engage with it.

By combining thoughtful design, animation and visual storytelling, we were able to take information that could easily feel dense or overwhelming and turn it into content that feels approachable and engaging.

Because sometimes the challenge isn't the information itself. It's how you communicate it.

Welcome to The Visual Comms Lab with I-Me, where we’ll be answering some of the questions we get asked most about animation and visual comms.

First up: Why animation?

Because sometimes the best way to explain something is to show the unshowable.

Chip and Willow have escaped. 🚜

Naturally, their first question was: what time is it?

Thankfully, Carse & Waterman HQ is prepared.

Six clocks in reception. One for each of the six towns of Stoke-on-Trent.

Do they all show exactly the same time? Yes.

Apart from Hanley. That’s 10 minutes in the future.

Could we have just had one clock? Also yes.

But where’s the fun in that?

Sometimes it’s the little details that make things more interesting.
